BACKGROUND:
Two years of experience as a nurse practitioner in a rural setting. Provided primary
care to patients of all ages although focused on geriatric health. I also have recent

EXPERIENCE:
Monroe Clinics: 11/01/1993 to 11/1995. Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner in a
family practice clinic. Managed acute and chronic illnesses across the spectrum of
ages with an emphasis on the geriatric population. Assisted in overseeing the care
of patients in the local nursing home. Performed routine physicals, patient
education regarding wellness and early detection.
Sauk Prairie Hospital: 8/1989 to 8/1995. Staff RN on a 20-bed medical/surgical
unit. Medical patients included COPD exacerbations, pancreatitis, CHF, etc.
Surgical patients included general surgery as well as specialized orthopedic
procedures/surgeries.
REM Home Health: 9/1997 to 2003: Visit nurse for elderly and developmentally
disabled clients. Managed diabetes, CHF, wound care, IV drug therapy, etc.
Supervisory visits provided for PCW and HHAs.
Certified Ventilator Nurse: 03/2003 to present. Provide private duty nurse for
clients who require in home 24/7 skilled nursing care. Currently caring for a client
who has a tracheostomy, G/J tube and requires a ventilator. Provide all cares
including ADLs, management of feeding tubes, oral and bronchial medications,,
management of ventilator, suctioning, trach changes, etc.
MATC Madison: 2/2007 to present. Nursing/Nursing Assistant Instructor.
Primarily teach nursing assistant students in lab and clinical. Clinical sites include
nursing homes and hospitals. Experience also includes associate degree nursing
clinicals and lab.
