Wetland Research Project. Soil Analysis Specialist and Hydrologic Surveyor
• Lead a team of experts from the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam and the
Dutch Soil Surveying Institute to implement the Wetland Research Project in Sierra
Leone, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.
• Performed reconnaissance surveys, detailed soil surveying, soil analysis, water
resources inventories, and hydrologic surveys.
• Interpreted data from satellite aerial photos taken over land units.
• Wrote a land evaluation report and overall land development plan for rice
production in over six million hectares of swampland.
• Performed laboratory soil analysis for base saturation percentage and cation
exchange capacity (CEC) determination on tropical oxisoils.
• Effectively managed all local and foreign government resources (including financial)
throughout the Research and Development Phase.
• Established a Soil and Irrigation Technicians Training School
