EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Self-starting web and database developer with naturally analytical
tendencies seeks position to combine technical prowess with analysis,
design, and development, innovation, people skills, and sensitivity to
deadlines. Adept at working with users to define technical needs and
translate functional requirements into solid system designs. I have
particular depth of experience in working with database driven interactive
Web based forms, the life cycle of forms, mostly using Adobe products
starting in the 90's with early versions of Adobe Acrobat and its evolution
through the years into a full-fledged document creation and management
system. I am a team player who can brainstorm with colleagues to determine
the most cost-effective long term and short term solutions to common
problems. Superb work ethic and communication skills

(JALIS) Project Management Office (PMO) of the Department of Defense
(DoD), an operations scheduling system designed to centralize worldwide
aircraft logistics.
TULANE UNIVERSITY, INNOVATIVE LEARNING CENTER 304 Howard-Tilton Memorial
Library, New Orleans, LA, 701**-****-****
* Built and maintained a range of both static and interactive database-
driven web sites customized for the University community using Macromedia
Dreamweaver and ColdFusion, Oracle and MS-SQL Server.
* Extensive development, customization, and maintenance of hundreds of PDF
documents for various departments in the Tulane University community
using early versions of components of the Adobe LiveCycle Suite.
* Proficiency with a wide range of desktop software for troubleshooting and
development, report building, and data mining.
TULANE UNIVERSITY, TECHNOLOGY SERVICES 1555 Poydras Street, 14th Floor,
Tulane University, New Orleans, LA 701**-****-****
* Performed impact analysis of the effect of Oracle interfaces to and from
current software. Maintained, modified, and created programs for four
standard university software packages-Financial Aid Management System,
Student Information System, Student Record System, and Financial Record
System.
* Customized and maintained the entire range of University financial aid
documents using IBM Mainframe Document Composition Facility.
* Designed process involving multi-platform programming to personalize
university recruitment material.
* Developed PC, GUI, and mainframe-to-PC GUI application interfaces in a
team-based environment. Worked extensively with multi-platform data
conversion, format and security issues.
INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY INC. New Orleans, Louisiana 1996-1997
* Part time consulting and application customization work using Peachtree
Accounting, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office. Converted AS400 legacy
system to a Windows NT environment.
BICKHAM ENTERPRISES New Orleans, LA 1989-1991
* Created a customized information system including databases and
spreadsheets for three interconnected companies.

NOTEWORTHY ACHIEVEMENTS
* Working in PL/SQL and Oracle Forms, added summary reporting
capabilities to the JALIS application. Created and implemented access
to multiple scheduling agencies using Oracle Forms. Spearheaded the
effort to begin transforming the legacy application into a true Web-
based interface system using Oracle Application Express as part of the
JALIS development team.
* Participated in testing, analysis, and documentation of third party
vendor's ultimately unsuccessful attempt to replace the Oracle Forms-
based JALIS application Web based Microsoft Visual Studio version.
Performed primary rewrite of existing spec document used to understand
JALIS by groups outside of the JALIS PMO.
* Worked in a team environment with Project Managers, Senior Developers,
designers and coders using Adobe Creative Suite 3, Adobe ColdFusion
Server on several modules of a major University-wide MS-SQL database-
driven application that coordinates information and resources between
Community Activists groups, Tulane faculty, and academic credit-based
volunteer work by Tulane University students.
* Created a university-wide undergraduate web-based Oracle database-
driven application for Language placement (still in use as of 2010),
which automated a manual process of preprinted hard copies distributed
to multiple schools that were filled out by hand and submitted. The
online application cut the processing time by two-thirds and made
early admission of incoming freshman available online.
* Worked in a team environment with Project Managers, designers, and
other developers using Adobe Creative Suite 3 and ColdFusion Server to
create a web-based MS-SQL and Oracle 9i database-driven application
for Tulane Liberal Arts College, allowing them to input Academic
activities of faculty for the calendar year, a matrix used in part to
determine faculty merit raises.
* Used IBM tag-based document language to generate financial aid forms
previously ordered in mass quantity from third party vendors, thereby
facilitating the retirement of all impact printers used to print those
forms. This resulted in significant cost savings to the University.
(Most of these forms are still in use.)
* Developed "Just in Time" Admissions brochures, documents that were
previously ordered through a third party vendor. Developed in-house
process to customize documents to respond to the information requests
of individual potential students using sophisticated Xerox printer
processing and mainframe Cobol programs. Also proofed and edited these
documents in Microsoft Office suite.
* Through engagement with users and the support of Computing Services
management, took initiative to independently create web-based
applications still used for University Risk Management department.
* Created web-based Oracle database-driven application used university-
wide by the Student Employment office to offer special government
subsidized jobs exclusively to Tulane students.
* Primary developer and support for the main Tulane University internal
financial document site, developing and maintaining hundreds of static
and interactive PDF documents used in the processing of accounts
payable and accounts receivable.
