2005: Spanish Instructor, Anthis Center, Fort Wayne, IN.
"Spanish for Healthcare Professionals" college credit courses for
college and career bound vocational school students. Program was a new
concept/new curriculum being offered for the year at Anthis,
responsible for leading the development of the program. Program was
designed to prepare high school level students for college studies in
the Healthcare industry. As part of the final exam, students
were required to participate with Community Action Northeast IN. (CANI) in
putting together a Healthcare Fair for Hispanic children ages 3 to 6.
Students were responsible for teaching children in Spanish how to brush
their teeth, wash their hands, and about poison control
and nutrition. Teaching responsibilities concurrent with Matthew 25
Health and Dental Clinic.

Professional Experience
2002 to 2005: Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic, Fort Wayne, IN.
Volunteer Coordinator: Matthew 25 is a not-for-profit healthcare
clinic providing medical and dental services to the uninsured people
of Allen County, IN. Over 500 volunteers and 35 staff members run the
clinic.
Major responsibilities include the recruitment, training and placement
of Medical and Clerical support volunteers. Also responsible for the
external public relations activities such as presentations to
churches, hospitals, universities, social clubs, job fairs, and
liaison with other not-for-profit organizations. Presentations support
fundraising, recruitment, and general public relations efforts. Serve
as Spanish medical interpreter, using Certified Nurses Assistant
background to help record Hispanic medical histories, vital signs and
communicate their needs to the healthcare professionals.
. Directed 3 volunteer recognition/appreciation dinners for
over 200 volunteers
. Created the Matthew 25 Volunteer Guidelines manual, which
describes responsibilities, used by all volunteers as definitive
handbook.
