Hazy Group, mainly work on the GeoDive project
Main working: building the applications on the data from certain database, in particular, the parsed
articles of AAPG (American Association of Petroleum Geologists).
Achievements: A normalizer for the pdf_to_html convertor (actually rebuild the DOM tree of the
HTML format of the articles from the messy HTML file generated by the convertor). Feature extractors
(based on the token sequences of parsed academic papers) for the data analysis system (finding the logic
connection between different semantic entities of the text). Ratting application planted in the UI. An
application, which is implemented with JQuery, Django, and PostgreSQL as the database, used to collect the
users’ feedback.
Current Task: Try to implement an optimized recommendation algorithm, and join it with the current
rating application on the UI. The algorithm and general methodology are based on the publication for the
Netflix Prize (2007- 2009).
Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, Jinan, China, July-August 2009. Working as a lobby assistant
and office assistant
Tasks including: providing basic services for the customers; handling data in the database; replication
of POS contracts; arranging documents.
Remark: The supervisor praises the passion and attention toward the job and is especially pleased
with the effort to improving everyone’s working efficiency.
Gains: some skills about how to use the programs that are designed for dealing with the database; use
special designed programs to classify documents in the office

experience), Linux operation, Mat lab, HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript and JQuery, Microsoft Word,
