Construction Project Manager/Facilities Manager/Planner, 2000-2008

Responsible for capital project justification, construction contractor management, facilities management,
and planning for lab, microprocessor manufacturing, and office spaces on the Oregon site.

• Completed construction project management for multiple labs, manufacturing space, data
centers, warehousing, conference centers, and office areas, which resulted in new office space
capabilities for over $200 million in construction.
• Planning for various Oregon facilities campuses including the planning for major design
campuses, manufacturing campuses, lease buildings, and various large lab build out projects.
• Design contractor direction (feasibility, programming, and detailed design) A & Es and
construction project management of various data centers, manufacturing upgrades, leased
building modifications, café’s, office buildings, company stores, executive conference rooms and
offices, etc. totaling over $100 million in value resulting in office and production capacity
increases.
• Facilities Manager for 3 MSF of facilities involving all facilities management for outsource
services and supervision of direct staff, resulting in increased customer satisfaction levels and
reduction in spends.
Facilities/Project Manager, 1997-2000 A (Reporting to Site VP)
Gulfstream Aircraft Company, Long Beach, CA
Responsible for all construction project management/safety, building leases, facilities planning, and
maintenance program management in support of paint, avionics, and aircraft interior fabrication
operations for Gulfstream VIP jets.
• Budgeted, site selection, and was the manager for the construction of a new paint hangar
including all land lease negotiations, construction project management, budget
development/tracking, contract awards, engineering supervision, master facilities planning, shop
layouts, regulatory permitting (air, water, building), resulting in new production capability in 8
months from approval.
• Justified $100 million in capital tooling, construction, and process resulting in the capacity to add
a painting process and additional capacity to meet a 300% increase in production rates.
• Project managed the construction of water treatment systems, new office facilities, TI leasehold
improvements, and major facilities (executive/customer offices, data center, etc) modifications
which increased site production capability by 300% in 3 years and totaling $80 million in
construction generating 300 KSF of new facility area.
• Development of maintenance procedures (PM, planned jobs), safety goals/training, facilities
master plans, building lease terms, maintenance personnel training plan, capital equipment plan
and various facilities procedure to change the organization environment from a reactive culture
to a planned action culture.
• EHS management for water treatment, air quality, hazmat, OSHA interface and safety
management resulting in the development of new procedures to eliminate any environment
escapes, and reduced injuries.
Construction Project Manager/Facilities Engineer, 1995-1997/1988-1991
McDonnell Douglas Corporation, Long Beach and Torrance, CA
Responsible for facilities contracting efforts, budget controls, and project management of manufacturing
and office construction projects up to $30 million.
• Managed various major construction/tooling projects totaling $100 million+ including budget
development/control, contract bidding, negotiations, contract administration, safety management,
and project management for large process systems, energy conservation, and facilities upgrades
including data centers.
• Managed the relocation of engineering group from leased facility to another leased facility
resulting in the relocation of 1500 personnel in a 6 month time frame saving 60% on leased
building costs.
• Project manager for various remodels involving customer service areas, senior executive office
areas, 2 million SF warehouse, and large scale office remodels in owned and leased facilities on
commercial and government programs.
• Developed, as program owner, funding budgets, facilities requirement plans/design criteria, and
construction monitoring for $1 billion in aircraft maintenance facilities, data centers, and support
facilities for the C-17 program, which were funded by the U.S. Congress. (Reported to Air Force
SPO and various senior military officials)
