Following a long active career of over 35 years, with senior managerial positions within shipping and
maritime, I voluntarily retired from my role as NITC Senior Chief Technical Superintendent in December
2012. I am currently seeking a new and challenging role in an international company where I can make
significant contributions.
Experience
New Shipbuilding & Design Manager and Senior Technical Chief Superintendent at National
Iranian Tanker Company (N.I.T.C.)
February 2003 - December 2012 (9 years 11 months)
As New Shipbuilding & Design Manager, at N.I.T.C. Head Office, I was primarily responsible for fleet
expansion and personnel management which led to N.I.T.C.’s position as World’s 4th largest Tanker Fleet
in the Middle East. The role involved coordinating with Shipbuilders, approving drawings & designs,
budgeting, cost control of New Ship-buildings and reporting of the status to the Technical Director.
During this period I also held the position of Senior Chief Technical Superintendent, being in charge of
Suez Max vessel - "CAMELLIA / EX-SAVEH". I was in full charge of the vessel with regards to
Budgeting, Cost Control, Purchasing Spare Parts & Stores, Ships Maintenance, Running / Voyage
Repairs & Dry Docking, negotiation and settlement of all related invoices, Coordination with various
third parties included but not limited to Classification Societies.
SENIOR CHIEF TECHNICAL CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT AND NEW BULIDING DESIGN
MANAGER at NATIONAL IRANIAN TANKER COMPANY

I was in charge of Fleet Vessel's Calling within the U.A.E. Area (included but not limited to Oil Tankers,
Gas Carrier & Off-Shore Fleet). This role involved handling all required services including repairs, boat
services, coordinating with different workshops, suppliers, classification, port authorities and providing
technical advice to the attending Superintendents, while being present for technical and invoice settlement
negotiations with yards/workshops. During this position I was reporting directly to head office Technical
Director & Chairman.
Technical Manager Group 1, while Chief Superintendent of M.T. SAVEH at N.I.T.C.
May 1997 - September 2001 (4 years 5 months)
During this period I was holding Head Office Technical Manager Group 1 position and had seven
Superintendents and eleven Vessels under my direct supervision. Responsibilities included guiding
Superintendents and planning vessel's repair timing according to vessel's operational requirement and
budget control. As part of my role as M.T. SAVEH Shipbuilding Manager, I worked closely with
Deawoo Heavy Industry at OKPO (KOREA), where I conducted sea trial & Ships delivery. I was in
charge of the vessel up until Sept. 2001, when I was assigned NITC Sharhaj Technical Manager. I was
also engaged at P.S.O. (IRAN) as "Chief Examiner" and "Head of Marine Engineering Examination
Committee".
Ship Building Chief Superintendent / Vessel's Chief Engineer at National Iranian Tanker Company
(N.I.T.C.)
January 1996 - May 1997 (1 year 5 months)
I was in Charge of first VLCC'S built for N.I.T.C. by Deawoo at OKPO / SOUTH KOREA for the
company. Within this role, I had sole responsibility in supervising the first two ship buildings from Steel
Cutting stage to Sea Trials and Delivery stage. I joined the vessel "IRAN NOAH" as the Ship’s Chief
Engineer Officer, where I was involved in Raising Guarantee Claims. I did this for all our 5 vessels of this
class, and made claims to rectify and settle various defects with an approximate value of US$25,000,000
(approximately US$5,000,000 a vessel).
Senior Technical Superintendent / GRP1 Manager at N.I.T.C.
February 1992 - January 1996 (4 years)
I was in Charge of two VLCC'S as Senior Technical Superintendent, while also holding position of Head
Office Technical Manager Group 1. I attended various global Shipyards and supervised repairs and
superintendent teams. I was also deeply engaged with education centres as well as Flag state & I.M.O. to
update training and Accreditation of Certificate of Competency Issued by Iranian Flag State as per STCW
and its international recognitions.
SPARE PART PROCURMENT MANAGER at N.I.T.C.
March 1989 - December 1990 (1 year 10 months)
As Procurement Manager, I was responsible for Fleet Foreign Spare Parts Purchasing.
Technical Manager / SAILING ENGINEER OFFICER at NITCO
August 1984 - March 1989 (4 years 8 months)
My experience during the IRAN / IRAQ Tanker War was ex-ordinary as I was deeply engaged with
Vessel’s entering P.G. various trouble shooting under extraordinary circumstances, which was not limited
to N.I.T.C. fleet vessel's. This was included but not limited to being head of / organising fire fighting for
those vessel's hit by missiles etc. “WORLD PETROBROTH", "SHINING STAR" & "SEAWISE GIANT
" were among those vessel's I was deeply engaged with. At the end of war I joined fleet vessels as sea
going officer at different ranks.
CADET TO THIRD ENGINEER OFFICER at BP
August 1977 - August 1984 (7 years 1 month)
My early career and introduction to shipping and maritime was as a cadet with British Petroleum (BP). I
joined. B.P. Ships, where I trained as a cadet and sailed on their nominated managed tankers in their joint
venture company called "Irano British Tanker Company”. On completion of this and on the termination
of the contract between B.P. and N.I.T.C., (1984) I was transferred to N.I.T.C.
