Job Description
• Charge Posting - To look-up the codes entered in the claim, and to assign the relevant charges for those codes. Charge Posting is a process where charge codes are entered into a healthcare claim form. In the process, there is a need to determine procedure as well as a diagnosis code based on the treatment given by doctors.
• Payment Posting - Posting of the details contained in the EOB (Explanation of Benefits). Should post the relevant charge in the appropriate patient’s account. Initiate the process for the denied claims.
• Correspondence - Measure the number of claims that are denied. Identify the major reasons for denial. Create a tracking/reporting process which will allow to measure your performance over time.
• Insurance Follow Up - Follow-up is a standard process to resolve insurance denials of claims based on reasons such as: "there is no claim on file with insurance company" (we resubmit immediately with proof of timely original submission); "additional information is required to process this claim," such as medical records or assignment of benefits (we contact insurance office for this information and forward it to carrier in timely fashion); "insurance is terminated or another insurance is on carrier’s files" (we contact insurance companies front desk and, if needed, to obtain correct insurance information from patient and resubmit accordingly).
• Patient Financial Service - Patient can pay bills online with American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa credit cards by enrolling with the Online Billing Team. Patients can view outstanding balances, pay in full or select specific payments.
• Claims - It is the process of submitting and following up on claims with insurance companies in order to receive payment for services rendered by a healthcare provider.
