Managed a two-shift optical fabrication department that supported division revenues exceeding $400 million annually.

Developed production schedules, team training, production metrics, and strategic goals for the department.

Increased shop capacity by 87% through a Six Sigma Green Belt project focused on the conversion of

conventional IR lens processing to a CNC process.

The direct labor and cycle time savings justified the acquisition of additional capital equipment to reduce the

requirement for component outsourcing.

Improved productivity by 42% and reduced consumables and waste by 50% over previous methods.

Controlled overhead budgets of $2 million with P&L responsibility for the operation.

Implemented team training and development, process improvement, and productivity metrics.

Drove continuous improvement by standardizing the laser crystal fabrication process utilizing copper/kemit

composite lapping materials.

Trained this fabrication team on the machining, grinding, and polishing of Nd: YAG laser rods.
