Maintenance Parts Specialist

Served as the Material and Parts Specialist with total responsibility for the provisioning and management of all material support for assigned Program Control Numbers (PCNs). Equipment includes but is not limited to Rail Equipment, Generators, and Shop Support Equipment. Responsibilities encompass total end items and/or sub components such as engines and transmissions. Demonstrate technical knowledge of end item re-manufacturing through the process of repair, overhaul, and/or the modification work order process. Knowledgeable on repair parts, assemblies, and components needed for these processes. Perform research in order to cross reference part numbers to and from Federal Stock Numbers. Familiar with Army and Federal Regulations pertaining to maintenance and logistics management (AR 700 series and the FAR/DFAR/AFAR). Determine and plan the most efficient method of providing the required materials and parts needed to support assigned programs to include sustainment maintenance (DS/GS) and depot level maintenance repair, rebuild, and modification. Interpret and weigh technical data, parts interchangeability, and parts usage factors for assigned equipment programs. Familiar with Technical Manuals/Technical Orders (TM/TO), Maintenance Instructions (commercial), Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), and Errata Sheets. Manage parts requirements within budgeted/allocated funds. Responsible for preparing and submitting cost transfers when needed. Evaluate and recommend the use of substitute or interchangeable parts, assemblies, or components to reduce costs and alleviate problems in the supply/procurement chain of the original item. Ensure the Federal Supply System is properly used and executed prior to the local purchasing of any repair parts within the federal supply system. Develop material cost estimates and market surveys for potential Customers. Solicit bids, evaluates and selects sources for purchasing items required and/or maintenance services needed. Selected for and executed Contractor Officer Representative duties on four Non-Personal Service Contracts. Prepared and reviewed Scope of Works/Statement of Works (SOW) and Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans (QASP). Function as and perform all duties related to being the primary local procurer for micro purchases required to support operational readiness. Manage and account for annual purchases over $500,000 while providing continuous and uninterrupted support. Establish and maintain repair part kits that support all levels of maintenance operations. Reconcile Government Credit Card purchases for direct programs accounting for the use of exhausted funds. Provide management with expertise and oversight in the daily operations of the parts warehouse. Assist shop personal with benefit entitlements such as helping them enroll in medical, dental, vision, flex spending accounts, thrift savings plan, and Army Knowledge Online. Trained and familiar with the Logistics Modernization Program.
