Goonyella Riverside is one of the largest open cut coal mines in Australia

producing over 15 million tonnes of coking coal a year. The mine is located

30km north of Moranbah Township and around 190km by rail west of Mackay and

the export terminals of Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay. The operational mining

leases cover an area of 22 kilometres long and 10 kilometres wide.

Goonyella Riverside Mine is operated by BPH Billiton and Mitsubishi

Alliance (BMA) Coal.

achieving and maintaining the requirements of HSEC Plans and

objectives to ensure that the project contractual obligations are met

in a safe manner and the operations are optimised.

System standards and procedures.

. Ensure that all personnel and subcontractor personnel are adequately

instructed concerning safety procedures and systems and that these are

. Conduct safety investigations, prepare reports and recommendations,

and implement corrective and preventative actions.

. Identify safety issues and problems ensuring corrective action is

taken and monitored.

. Schedule and coordinate site based safety and health programs as per

the Downer EDI Mining HSE System and Regulatory requirements.
