• Overall management as Fleet Manager, within the limits of the Classification and
Statutory requirements including ISM/ISPS Codes, of 3500 vessels out of 10175 overall
classed.
• Controlling and instructing the Marine Centres located in Shanghai, Singapore and Dubai,
and their attached Connecting Districts, Surveys Centres and field Surveyors for
operational matters, with the overall objective of proper performance of surveys and
maintenance of vessels according to the Classification Rules (Steel Ships, Offshore Units,
Yachts, Floating Units) and International Statutory regulations.

• Responsible for maintaining the quality of the classed fleet within the Zones.
• Supervising the services performed by the Operational Structure within the scope of
Classification/Statutory Certification and of ISM/ISPS Code Certification and providing
technical support to Marine Centres and Operational Units within the Zones.
• Monitoring the Marine Centres and the quality of services within the Zones.
• Management of internal and external complaints received from surveyors,
shipowners/managers, Flag Administrations, Port State Control, this includes evaluating
the customer satisfaction as concerns the quality of services and making visits to
shipowners/managers, Flag Administrations, Port State Control, where necessary.
• Contributing to the implementation of commercial activities within the Zones.
• Taking final technical decisions with regards to classification and statutory matters.
• Following up of detentions, requesting corrective and preventive actions that include
taking decisions for onboard practical assessment of Surveyors and performing Vertical
Ship Audits within the scope of end product audits.
• Writing and providing training courses to Operation Managers, surveyors, ship owners
and Authorities subjects include, Class Rules and Surveys, Class and Statutory
Requirements including conducting the surveys (Class/Statutory periodical surveys i.e.
Annual/Intermediate/Special/Boiler/Tailshaft/Docking/Load Line/Safety Equipment/Safety
Radio/MARPOL Annex.I, Annex.IV, Annex.VI, Safety Radio) Detentions, Prevention of
Detentions, Offshore Units, Gas Carriers and ESP ships i.e. Bulk Carries, Oil Tankers,
Chemical Tankers (ESP requirements, structure, periodical surveys, damages,
detentions, repairs, detention/detention prevention, etc.)
• Responsible for dealing with the technical issues and quality performance in Ships-in-
Service Department,
