variety of electrical safety issues around the plant.

all issues of safety regarding the Cold Mill. Safety audits,

inspections, contacts, issue closure.

Electrical Area Supervisor New Cold Mill Finishing Side

Severstal / Mittal / I.S.G. / Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point

Division

Responsible for the day to day, cyclical, and long term

maintenance items for the Hydrogen Batch Annealing, Skin Pass

Mill, Rewind Inspection, Packaging, and Warehouse facilities in

the New Cold Sheet Mill.

Developed and implemented the Mill Standard for LOTO and

equipment identification.

Supervision of three full time system technicians and various

craftsmen as needed for upgrades and repairs.

Responsible for circuit and system design, troubleshooting,

repair planning, parts identification and acquisition, upgrades,

new projects, vendor search and consultations, and safety.

Work closely with automation and operation personnel to ensure

equipment availability, currently above 97%.

Proficient in several PLC programming languages and Microsoft

Office.

September 1997 - May 2000

Electrical Project Engineer New Cold Sheet Mill

Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point Division

Selected for the original project team for the largest

construction project on the east coast at that time, $360

million. Responsible for mill equipment specifications,

choosing mill equipment and suppliers based on those

specifications.

Responsible for overseeing items concerning but not limited to

the Pickler Tandem Mill Linked Operation. Worked closely with

all construction, engineering, and installation parties to help

insure a safe, cost effective, productive installation of the

New Cold Sheet Mill.

During this time I spent three months in Austria with VAI, Voest

Alpine Industries programmers and engineers setting up and

performing the automation and integration testing of the control

systems.

July 1992 - August 1999

Electrical Area Supervisor Cold Sheet Mill Coating Lines

Was responsible for electrical maintenance items on four hot dip

galvanize and galvalume lines. This started during the latter

stages of commissioning of #4 Hot Dip Galvanizing line.

During this time I was involved with the upgrading of #3

Galvanizing line which included a new front end cleaning section

and a new acrylic coating section at the exit end.

These facilities included two inspection and side slitting lines

and warehouse areas.

March 1991 - July 1992

Electrical Area Supervisor Cold Sheet Mill Pickling Lines

Responsible for the electrical maintenance of two sulfuric acid

pickling lines and hot band storage areas.

Oversaw the upgrading of the controls from 1940's contactors to

PLC control using interposing relays while changing the control

voltages from 250 vdc to 110vac. I also had the two large Mesta

welders removed and overhauled, including the rewinding of the

transformers.

Dec 1989 - March 1991

Electrical Turn Supervisor Cold Sheet Mill

Was responsible for the electrical turn crew and breakdown

trouble shooting for the entire Cold Sheet Mill (two picklers,

two tandem mills, three skin pass lines, box anneal, three

coating lines, warehouse and compressor room)

I would also take daylight repair day responsibilities as

required.

Aug 1990 - May 1992

College Recruiter

Spent two years as a college recruiter looking for technically

degreed applicants for first line supervisory positions in

addition to my work duties.

PLC programming, systems integration, component specification,

most recently Siemens Step 7. Have also worked with Reliance, GE

Skills Fanuc, and other smaller controllers. Have worked with both AC

and DC drive units as well as servo drives. Worked on/with

drives up to 5000 KW. Have worked with and or supervised

contractors, hourly, and salaried workers. Worked with and on

MG sets, open dc control panels, water/gas/air cooled systems.

Familiar with various fire suppression systems. Familiar with

and have worked on HVAC units used in large control rooms.

Redesign and upgrades to wiring and control schematics. Have

set up the safety LOTO programs in several operating

departments. Was qualified and qualified the hourly workers on

switchgear and switching procedures up to 34.5 KV units.
