The Baobab field is located approx 30 km offshore Abidjan,Cote d' Ivoire,West Africa .

FPSO Baobab has been on location and in production for over 7 yrs and

consists of a deepwater turret moored FPSO connected via an external

turret mooring system to a series of subsea manifolds.

The FPSO is installed in 970 meters water depth, making it one of the

deepest water FPSO 's in the world. It is capable of processing 70,000

barrels of oil per day, 75 million cubic feet of natural gas, and 100,000

bpd of water injection.

Export Gas is pumped via subsea pipeline to shore-base terminal power

station.

Overall responsibility for the safety of all FPSO personnel, facilities

and Unit Operations .

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Efficiently manage the health, safety and welfare of all personnel on board

the installation.

Ensure contractual obligations are satisfied as the company representative.

Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, guidelines, company

policies and procedures.

Turret & Swivel Safe Operations & Planned Maintenance

Plan and co-ordinate Front End Engineering with onshore engineering for

various projects to optimize the units processing facilities

Commissioning of new & upgraded, modified process facilities offshore.

Plan and co-ordinate with the Superintendents all production and

maintenance activities so as to achieve production targets.

Ensure implementation of the Company Safety Management System i.e.

compliance with legislation, company policies, standards and procedures,

monitoring compliance by all other personnel.

Promote a safety culture where all personnel have an understanding of the

Operations Safety Case and operate rigorously in accordance with it.

Ensure strict implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system.

Ensure all documentation and certification is in order and up to date.

Promote team building, training and development and ensure that the Company

Competence Assurance System is progressed.

Ensure that regular Emergency Response drills are carried out in compliance

with regulations.

Assume responsibility and lead the on board Emergency Response Organization

in the event of an emergency.

Roles & Responsibilities can be summarised as follows:

Safely meet Production, Gas Lift, and Water injection targets as per

contractual nomination.

. Ensure operations conducted within design parameters, in accordance

with company Management System and in compliance with statutory

. Promote Corporate HSE Management System Policies & Procedures and

. Monitor & maintain Turret Swivel operations,analyse and report

FPSO Serpentina has been on location for almost 5 years, currently

producing approx 90k bopd and also acting as the terminal point for

offloading, importing 165k bopd from the Exxon FPSO Zafiro Producer &

Jade platform via a subsea flow line. Export operations every 3 days.

production wells, 6 x WI wells, Water depth 450 to 792 metres,Oil

Rate 110k bpd, Gas lift 65 mmscfd,Produced Gas 80 mmscfd WI 150k

bpd, Dead Crude Import 165k bpd and a total storage capacity of 2.2

million bbls.

As Superintendent taking Overall responsibility for Production

Department & Subsea / Topsides Operations,ensuring Subsea & Process

plant is operated to optimum output whilst maintaining nominated

production Targets within plant design criteria.

Originally joined the unit as a contractor Production Tech, after 2

years I was offered a company position by Amoco UK in the role of CRT

& subsequent Shift Team leader position offered by BP.

Responsible for proactive operation of plant ensuring production was

optimised at all times to achieve set nomination targets, whilst ensuring

the process was operated safely and within the design parameters.

Generated PUR reports and investigated root cause failure to resolve and

improved plant performance.

ABB DCS Master view 850 control on two separate process systems.

I was a delegated Area Authority in all areas of the platform in the PTW &

ISSOW system.

Directing outside technicians to maintain stable plant operations and in

response to plant upsets.

Coach Operators & Technicians on plant technical issues and best practices.

Delivered daily production reports and distributed, maintained & updated

records, procedures.

Liaised with on/offshore third parties dealing with plant changes, well

guide lines & technical problems.

Responsible for shift operations budget & ensuring all required

chemicals/oils were well stocked.

Actively involved through construction,Front End Engineering & Design,stage tie-ins, installation, commissioning and first gas of the Erskine /

EPM process and have since been part in the fine tuning and de bottle neck

drilling programme for two new wells was completed without a single injury

or major incident due to the high level of team coordination by myself and

Process included four, 3 Phase Separation Trains, Various types of

Wells including Gas Lift, Water Injection system, Electric Driven Gas

Compression and 3 x GT driven Power Generation.

Working as part of a multi-disciplined Production Operations team,

responsible for the safe & efficient operation and first line

Maintenance.

Utilities/Mechanical Technician

From Oct. 89 to Dec. Wood Group Engineering, Atlantic Power & Gas,

91 Thistle Alpha BP ex North Sea

Responsible for the safe & efficient operation of main power

generation & all utilities / plant throughout the platform,

responsible for safe operation and control of 2 x Pratt & Whitney

GT's & 1 x Rolls Royce Olympus GT,working closely with the

electrical engineer and production supervisor to maintain platform

power supplies & process facilities to maintain platform production.

Responsible for regaining power supplies from black start, performing

first line maintenance / shutdown work on the plant, turbine engine

changes, pump repairs fault finding, identifying problems and

rectifying planned maintenance.

Mechanical Technician

Initially joined to carry out major shut down work on gas train

vessels and gas turbine change out, requested from Maintenance

Superintendent to transfer to main core crew maintenance team

carrying out planned maintenance throughout the plant and satellite

platforms.

From June 83 to Jan. Peerless Refinery Company (Edible Oils)

Part of maintenance team working in all areas of the refinery &

processing plant in the production of edible oils, fats & oil based

liquids, responding to breakdowns, fault finding, general planned
