PROJECTS

. Electricity Generation From Speed Breaker (B.Tech Final Project)

(PTU GZS CAMPUS BATHINDA) (Jan 2013-Apr 2013)

This project was regarding the conversion of kinetic energy into

mechanical energy with the help of shafts, gears, bearing and rack

& pinion. This project was based on latest technology used to

generate electricity using renewable source of energy.

INTERNSHIP

. Mahindra & Mahindra Swaraj Division Plant-2, Chappercheri, Mohali

(Punjab) (June 2012-Dec 2012).

* Hydraulic Issues

Mahindra & Mahindra was facing some hydraulic (lift jerking) issues

in their Swaraj tractor division. This issue was mainly occurring

because of dents in response valve and breakage of 0- ring. In

addition to this, even there were no sufficient tools to tighten

the jig and fixture. We took some historical data from travel card

and found out all these issues.

* Cost Reduction Evaluation (CRE) of Impact Guns

Every company wants to reduce the cost of their products while

maintaining the quality of their products. Swaraj is having impact

gun which is used to automatically tightening the bolt. During

tightening, the upper part of gun was fouling which was causing

huge maintenance cost to the company. We were able to completely

reduce this maintenance cost.

* Contribution in the TPM and TQM Audit Examination

I participated in the company wide TPM and TQM audit examination

and was able to reduce significant number of issues.

* Value Stream Mapping/ Makigami

This is a lean manufacturing technique used to analyze and design

the flow of materials and information required to bring a product

or service to a consumer. identify the target product, product

family, or service.

. 6 weeks Industrial Training at Guru Hargobind Thermal Power Plant,

Lehra Mahobbat, Bathinda (Punjab) in 2011,

Study the working of Coal Handling Plant, coal crusher,Turbine Cell,

Boiler,Mechanical Workshop, D M Plant, Cooling Tower and visit to

whole Power Plant.
