CAREER HISTORY

GENERAL MANAGER/PLANT MANAGER, JJ CHURCHILL PRECISION ENGINEERING

Duration: April 2012 - Present, Location: Guaymas, Mexico.

Appointed General Manager of a UK based SME with a remit to establish the

companies first overseas operation in Mexico to support business growth

through regionalisation. The key objective of the role was to establish a

high volume manufacturing operation focused on the manufacture of aircraft

and Industrial gas turbine engine components to support in region customers

and deliver profitable business growth in line with the board's

expectations.

Key responsibilities included but were not limited to the following:

. Full autonomy for all in country operations reporting directly to the

UK board of directors.

. Development and steering of business strategy to exploit in region

opportunities for business growth within the aero engine sector.

. Full P&L responsibility for overseas operations.

. Site selection, facility planning, appointment and management of main

building contractors and overall responsibility for on time completion

of factory build (35,000 sq.ft facility).

. Capex management for new facility and infrastructure.

. Production cell design, setup and commissioning through to production

readiness signoff.

. In country recruitment, including management of labor and union

agreements.

. Working with local, state and government bodies to secure funding

opportunities.

. Establish in country business operating procedures for overseas

PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT, AEROSTRUCTURES, KONGSBERG DEFENCE SYSTEMS

Duration: June 2011 - April 2012, Location: Kongsberg, NORWAY.

Responsible for defining & implementing a recovery plan to support customer

final assembly line build requirements following production delays caused

by producability issues with customer supplied design data for composite

fuselage components and Complex bonded assemblies (Rudder & Vertical Tail

leading edge). Supported the business with strategic planning to ensure the

successful transition from low rate initial production to full rate

production. Implemented KPI's for performance monitoring and steering of

improvement initiatives. Implemented a standard project reporting toolset

for reporting project status, to multiple customers, with respect to

delivery performance, Non- Recurring Engineering progress, Quality issues,

Cost Reduction/Affordabilitry initiatives and risk management. Mentored the

company's permanent project management staff to allow them to assume

responsibility for the long term management of the project (10-20 years

duration).

PROGRAM MANAGER, F35-JSF COMPOSITE DETAILS & MAJOR ASSEMBLIES, TERMA A/S

Duration: August 2009 - May 2011, Location: Grenaa, DENMARK.

Successfully managed the offload of major composite component manufacture

and assembly from the UK to Denmark. Additionally, appointed as the project

manager responsible for managing a business critical, corrective action

program to address autoclave & post cure process and procedural issues to

support manufacture of F35 composite components.

Key responsibilities included but were not limited to the following:

. Prepare technical and commercial proposals in response to customer

requests for quotation.

Responsible for the delivery of instrumentation design and make work

packages to support the BR725 engine development program.

Key responsibilities included but were not limited to the following:

. Support internal requirements capture to facilitate flow down to

external suppliers.

. Specify work packages for external execution (design and make), Fan,

LPT, HPC, IMC, IGB, HPT, Combustor and externals.

. Support external supplier selection process.

Panther CLV armored vehicle program, covering all

engineering

Changes from development vehicles through into steady state production

across all variants.

SUPPLIER QUALITY & DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - ROLLS-ROYCE NAVAL MARINE

Duration: May 2006 - Sept 2006, Location: Bristol, UK.

Responsible for the management of subcontract manufacture of GT components

for Marine fleet Gas turbine engines, specifically for the development of

WR21 GT engines for the Type 45 destroyer. The main purpose of this role

was to manage the resolution of technical problems experienced by sub

contract companies through root cause analysis, R-R PIR, leading supplier

process control and capability studies, FMEA studies, Component proving

process, FAIR's and training suppliers in accordance with R-R SABRe 9000.

COMPOSITE ASSEMBLY PLANNER - BAE SYSTEMS JSF F35

Duration: Jan 2006 - May 2006, Location: Samlesbury, UK.

Responsible for writing assembly planning instructions on the F35-JSF Aft

Fuselage manufacture, encompassing Composites, Titanium and Aluminum

materials, tooling systems and assembly techniques. The main purpose of

this role was to establish the most effective and economical methods of

component installation and assembly, utilizing lean manufacturing tools and

techniques..

MANUFACTURING PROJECT ENGINEER - AIRBUS UK A350 FLIGHT TEST

Duration: Jan 2005 - Jan 2006, Location: Broughton (Chester), UK.

Responsible for writing and maintaining the Manufacturing Engineering Build

philosophy Brochure/ Build strategy. The role included production and

maintenance of program resource requirements, learning curves, program cost

estimates for Blue-collar, white-collar, DC's, and Tooling. The Development

of FTI project plans and the Organisation & co-ordination of project review

meetings with Partners in Spain, France and Germany.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - AIRBUS UK, A380/A318 FLIGHT TEST

Duration: Jan 2002 - Jan 2005, Location: Broughton (Chester), UK.

Responsible for writing Mechanical and Electrical Engineering method

statements/process routings from engineering drawings. The role included

supporting design drawing release/sign-off, managing physical and

functional interfaces on the wing, shop floor support in the UK and

Toulouse and collation of equipment installation data.
