resource responsible for providing pre-sales and post-sales
engineering services as well as professional services engagements.
Meet with current and prospective customers in support of our sales
team. Work with client engineering teams to craft solutions tailored
to their specific needs and objectives, craft demonstrations,,
technical presentations, and specific statements of work and bills of
materials. Primary responsibility is support of Infoblox, Splunk,
Palo Alto, FireEye, Gigamon and Arista product lines., with secondary
responsibility for A10/F5, Juniper, and Aerohive technologies.

promoted from Manager, Operations and Engineering (March 2003-October
2009) Senior technical staff member, managed a staff of approximately
fifteen engineers and specialists responsible for planning,
development, implementation and support of the enterprise technology
infrastructure. Technologies utilized included large scale Windows
Server 2008 (Hyper-V) Clusters, IBM iSeries, Avaya Voice,
NetApp/Equalogic Storage, Aruba/Alcatel/Cisco/F5 Networks,
Checkpoint/Symantec Security and campus fiber and cabling systems.
Notable Accomplishments:
. Migrated the organizations Exchange/SharePoint 2007 systems to
Microsoft Office 365 (1800 mailboxes).
. Implemented Office 2010 and Lync 2010 across the organization (1200
desktops).
. Implemented F5 Networks Cloud Extender and Amazon S3 Cloud Storage
systems to support storage of a 30TB library of rich media and images
and avoid future investment in on-premise storage systems.
. Refreshed and expanded the campus-wide Wi-Fi systems with the latest
Aruba technologies (400+ access points averaging 2000 users a day).
. Redesigned the WAN infrastructure, employing multiple fault tolerant
router and firewall systems distributed across the campus.
. Extensively evaluated Cloud Hosting solution providers, choosing
OpSource.com as the preferred provider.
. Implemented the infrastructure and integration required to host future
revenue sites there, including www.ColonialWilliamsburg.com.
. Developed and successfully tested a migration plan to retire legacy
Alcatel core and edge network switches with contemporary Cisco
solutions.
Manager, Enterprise Architecture (May 1998 - March 2003). Partnered
with Colonial Williamsburg operating units to provide long-range
technical planning. Served as liaison between technical efforts,
third party consultants, services providers, and business partners.
Managed and performed research and development, proof of concept, or
pilot projects to select new technologies. Developed plans and
processes that met strategic IT goals while satisfying business
requirements.
Systems Project Leader/Analyst (February 1994 - May 1998). Project
Leader for implementation of new systems and technologies. Technical
team leader for successful implementation of Infinium Inventory
Control, Purchasing Management, Materials Management, Order
Processing, EDI/Fax and Manufacturing modules. Implemented Methos
Maintenance Management Software, and developed extensive ERP
integration with revenue systems.
Applications Programmer/Analyst (July 1991 - February 1994). Provided
primary technical support for Fund Development, Work Control,
Inventory/Purchasing, Customer Information, Mail List Management, and
Risk Management systems, with secondary responsibility for the Human
Resources, Payroll, and Accounting systems.
January 1992 - May 2003: Thomas Nelson Community College Adjunct
Professor, Business Science Division. Adjunct professor for
information systems classes, such as IST 171 (RPG400 Programming), IST
295 (Installing and Administering NT Server) and a variety of other
computer-related/desktop productivity classes.
November 1987 - May 2003: Freelance Consultant Installed and
configured PC and LAN equipment. Designed and developed custom
Windows based billing and client tracking systems, primarily for
retail, medical, marketing, and social service organizations.
January 1989 - July 1991: Circuit City Stores, Inc.
Programmer/Analyst. Lead member of the design and development team
for the DPS (Distributed Processing System) point of sale project.
Developed much of the code for Order Entry, Payment Mode, Cashier
Control, and Release Acknowledgment portions of the system. Designed
the online Circuit City Credit Card application system, headed the
implementation team, and took part in the successful roll out of the
system. Worked on several special projects, and as part of the Sales,
Distribution and Inventory team, enhanced and stabilized the multi-
platform sales processing and distribution center systems.
May 1988 - January 1989: A.T.& T. Network Operation Group Technical
Support Supervisor, Mid-Atlantic Switching Quality Control Center.
System Administrator for multiple A.T.& T. 3B/15 minicomputers located
throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Provided 24 hour technical
support for the user community. Provided in house PC support and
training.
March 1988 - May 1988: Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator
Facility. Temporary Worker. Installed an Ethernet network to link HP
CAD stations at remote trailer sites to the main building's VAX
system.
