Duties: teaching Independent Living skills to teens and troubled youth ages 14-22 in Utah. Under the Education Enhancement Program (EEP) I taught year round classes at the schools and youth centers on multiple subjects, depending on the request of the teacher and the class need. Ran a 7 week summer program with cooking class and camp out. Sat on board of education for special education in Murray school district .for 11 years. Advocate for clients and sex education teacher. Also certified to teach the circles program and sexual abuse for children with disabilities. Taught a lot of vocational skills, social skills, did crafts and recreational activities. Have a wide range and variety of activities which I have acquired over my years of teaching. Completion of files pertaining to each persons goals. Attended yearly law conferences to stay up to date with the current laws. Assisted in interviewing and training new EEP applicants. Attended various conferences for information and resources. Assisted in all community out-reach programs for students and their families. By request would attend IEP meetings to advocate for the student to be sure they were provided with adequate accommodations for the students needs to attend all required classes. Through Harmony Institution I organized and held a charity function for disability awareness. All money was donated to the UILC in the amount of 1500.00. Also assisted with and attended larger charity events for raising the money to expand the center to accommodate a larger population of people for large events. Worked with many other Community Programs closely such as the Granite school districts Gifts program, DSPD, Developed a stranger danger curriculum of my own, Dare program liked it and so we shared curriculum and started networking together as a result. .Attended weakly staff meetings as required. Learned some sign language, and practiced frequently in order to work with students and co-workers whom were hard of hearing.

Duties: Assist clients with everyday living skills, including showering, dressing cooking, house hold job duties, follow he individuals care program and their food restrictions if any were in place. Transport individuals to all necessary appointments and community activities. Assisted with recreation activities for the Halloween and Christmas parties for clients. Chris Frankowski the director at that time allowed me excess to the chrysalis office in order to teach relationship skills as well as other independent living skills which were offered to any of the clients who chose to attend, using my curriculum and under my planned activities .Assisted manager Peggy Lockhart with extra duties when she was on vacation, such as being on call with the pager to handle any emergencies that may occur in her absence. Accompanied 5 of our individuals with my manger on a 7 day vacation to Disney Land. Assisted in brainstorming ideas for a clients behavior plan that was implemented by the behavior team and was successful for her because she got to make her own choices which gave her more power over the rewards for her great behavior. Some clients are difficult I have experienced much success with them.

Skills include: Quick learner, taught sex education, crafts, recreation, all types of Independent Living skills training including vocational skills. I taught drug and alcohol awareness also as a part of my curriculum as well as a lot of anger management, getting and apt etc.. I have 13 years worth of teaching material on various subjects, crafts and recreational ideas. As well as group activities for small and large groups . Organizational skills, planning skills, supervision skills am very flexible in scheduling and ideas. Very good at making on the spot sound minded decisions when their was an emergency or scheduling conflicts. Resourcefull in finding ways to engage the clients in activities at home and in the community. Often have trained others on how to gain the trust and respect of individuals who have proved to be difficult and combative with new people and new situations or surroundings. Good quality customer service with families and providers in the community that are a part of an individuals team. Have food handlers permit, first aid, cpr and Mandt training certificates. Very creative fun presentations to capture the interest of the individuals I’m working with. Child care with children with disabilities in a structured classroom. I adopted one of my long term students who was in foster care and living at Wasatch Youth as a parent to a 17 year old with a variety of disabilities I learned a lot of valuable skills, in doing so on a personal level of what it takes to care for one of these special children who have so many specific needs.. Gained more knowledge and resource information in assisting him to be successful. I also learned a great deal about attachment disorders. I enjoy assisting people in all endeavors to better enrich their lives and become successful in life. This has been my passion for many years. I think I have a lot to offer in the way of recreational activities as well as many other subjects that may be helpful to your cliental . Have excellent skills in supervising others. Fun and easy going personality, gets a long with others easily Am able to make good sound decisions in most circumstances that may arise unexpectedly in a moments notice.
