Dear Sir:

Please find enclosed my resume regarding the Safety Compliance Specialist position in Hudson Oaks, TX I have a wealth of relevant experience and a variety of skills which I feel could benefit your organization for many years to come.

I am currently employed at a small freight carrier and freight brokerage company in North Alabama. During my tenure here I have conquered a number of unique challenges which I believe demonstrate my versatility and willingness to take on a variety of projects. Approximately three weeks into my employment we had a DOT Compliance Review which resulted in a conditional rating. I am proud to say that less than two years later we now have a satisfactory rating and my superiors have attributed much of the improvement to my concerted efforts.

In addition to my Office Manager duties, I have taken on the role of DOT Compliance and Safety Coordinator. I also created an employee handbook, written new safety policies and procedures and began coordinating and conducting regular safety meetings to ensure our drivers and mechanics understand and follow our current policies as well as any changes in FMCSA regulations.

Our Fleet Maintenance records, which were virtually non-existent before our first review, are now entered into a software program that maintains all work completed on our trucks and alerts me when annual and periodic inspections are due. I use the same software to enter and maintain driver qualification files and to receive alerts when CDL’s and DOT Physicals are about to expire. I’m certified in Reasonable Suspicion Drug and Alcohol Awareness and responsible for entering drivers in a true random testing program.

I regularly audit driver logs and conduct one-on-one meetings with drivers to review log violations. I also have my CDL-A along with over-the-road driver experience. I am very proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks and other transportation-related software.

I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you regarding the position of Safety & Compliance Specialist. Thank you for your kind consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Givans
