Program Manager
Managed program schedule, budget, resources, and risk management for a program to develop a marine
vibrator noise source for offshore marine seismic survey systems.
• Established the detailed program schedule, budget, resource breakdown, and initiated program risk
analysis. Participated in planning for and program kickoff meeting with customer. Provided detailed
weekly financial reports, and weekly and monthly status reports. Result: Customer felt comfortable
program was under control and micromanagement was not required.
TELEDYNE GEOPHYSICAL INSTRUMENTS, Houston, TX 2011-2013
Engineering Program Manager
Led development effort for several acoustic data acquisition systems, components and collaboration
efforts with development partners, customers and suppliers.
• Coordinated proposal effort among several companies to secure an opportunity for the development
of an advanced seismic source for a major oil company consortium. Converged collaboration effort
into a final proposal format and led meetings with consortium representatives and consultants.
Result: A multiyear development contract that is scheduled for kickoff in 2013.
• Created and managed the staged development and introduction of an internal diagnostic data
acquisition tool for production and field troubleshooting and process improvement. Result:
Improvement in issue resolution time and increased manufacturing process insight and efficiency.

Director, System Development
Led system design / development effort for the outsourced manufacture of HP’s desktop and blade PC’s. Supervised
an organization consisting of 200 electrical and mechanical engineers. Developed products for various markets
including consumer products, commercial desktops, workstations, blade PC’s, and thin clients.
• Managed a development organization in a low-wage, offshore environment, with low morale and high employee
turnover. Developed a technical and project management training program to raise the skill and contribution
level of new employees; and to add value to compensate for low wages, to increase morale and reduce turnover.

cost, schedule, and quality requirements, creating significant savings during development cycles, and enhancing

Program Manager
• Led effort to design and develop HP/Compaq’s low-end PC product line with virtual team in Houston
that included representatives from Marketing, Product Testing, Manufacturing, Procurement, Product
Support, Logistics, and Purchasing. Also directed efforts of the Product Engineering / Design Team,
located in Taiwan.
• Managed development and offshore manufacturing of a very low cost desktop computer. Formalized
outsourced development process eventually adopted by other divisions. Assisted inexperienced
supplier in Mainland China in setting up their manufacturing line and processes.
Result: Initial product was delivered in two months. Within five years low-end product family was
generating a significant percentage of division’s total revenue.
• Provided project management discipline to a blade server development organization for an effort in
field problem resolution. Also provided project management effort to help bring discipline to
component supplier’s technical and schedule management.
Result: Significantly improved schedule integrity, validation coverage, organizational
communications, risk management, and customer satisfaction. Improvements saved tens of thousands
of dollars in missed delivery dates, rework, and field repairs.
AVEO, INC., Santa Clara, California 1999-2000
Field Application Engineer
• Provided on-site technical product support and account management of Attune preemptive software
application at large OEM accounts in U.S. and Canada, including Dell, HP, Gateway, Compaq, and
Corel.
• Installed and managed third generation software at Dell in Austin and assisted in the successful
implementation of the third generation product deployment concept .
• Result: Aveo received a significant investment and development grant from Dell.
