. Manage Mine maintenance at Spring Creek Coal. I

have implemented planning and condition

monitoring as well as defect elimination. As

manager I have the following reports; 1

reliability engineer, 3 planners,1 truck shop

foreman, 1hydrocarbon technician and 1 data

. Strong emphasis is placed on scheduled work and

planning. Execution of planned work is also a

big part of our maintenance.

Equipment on site is mining equipment. D11

dozers, D10 dozers, Draglines, electric

shovels, Hydraulic shovels, Large wheel loaders

(L1850), Haulage trucks, Water trucks, Rubber

tired dozers, support equipment and all light

vehicles for personnel transportation.

. Budgeting is one of my main concerns. All

components must be tracked and monitored for

condition. A forecast is made and a budget

built accordingly. The budget is forecasted

quarterly. Manpower needs are also budgeted.

. Safety is by far the most important part of my

job. Policies and procedures must be followed

and enforced. Communication with the crews on

safety and safe work habits are discussed each

day within groups as well as on the floor and

in the field.

. Managed two large truck shops, which included a

rebuild facility a welding shop and two small

vehicle facilities.

. 12 supervisors and 180 mechanics/welders

reported to me. I was responsible for manpower

needs as well as managing the budget.

Recruiting, interviewing and hiring were my

responsibilities.

. This maintenance facility was dedicated to

condition monitoring and strict planning for 47

haul trucks, 5 drills, 4 hydraulic shovels, 4

large loaders (Cat 994), various 992 loaders,

16g graders, 785 water trucks, D10 dozers and

rubber tired dozers. There were also

approximately 2500 small vehicles that needed

maintenance. The small vehicle shop also

reported to me.

. Responsible for maintenance planning for mobile

analysis and other condition monitoring methods

. Supervised PM crews, welding crews, and rebuild

facility crews at the south area shop. Also

involved in the improvement strategy for the

994 loaders.

. Implemented an ongoing program to improve the

availability of the 994 loaders. Program

involved nominating teams of mechanics from

each crew to work specifically on 994 loaders

and training mechanics to troubleshoot and

repair various loader systems. Held weekly

meetings to pinpoint problems and discus

solutions. Availability and reliability

improved as a direct result of the program.

. Expanded availability improvement program to

the Haulage fleet using the same developed

procedures and concepts. Program resulted in

improved skills and morale. Brake test

developed fro the cat haul trucks has virtually

eliminated brake failures that were a common

problem before the program
