F urnace Tech

Ground crew for a 30,000 lbs furnace. My job was to make sure everything was setup

and maintained for the furnace to discharge every 2-3 hours 4-6 t imes in a 12hr shift. I

operated a Komatsu WA320 with a special narrow but long bucket to move and stage

material, and also to charge the furnace. I also operated a lift-t ruck to move pallets,

move and f l ip mud buckets, remove and move ingots of aluminum, and also move and

d ump lift-dumpsters.

My job was to wash and make sure everything was properly sanitized. When I was

caught up I was also t raining to be a line cook.

I s tarted out operating a 9 wheel roller. I did general labor and learned to operate a

water t ruck, skip loader/ gannon, sheepsfoot roller, case front end loaders, and various

hand operated machinery.

I have lived on a farm since I was 5. I have been driving and operating t ractors since I was

8. I also learned to weld using an arc welder, mig welder, and a t ig welder. Also I am

p roficient in cutting with a plasma cutter and an oxygen/acetylene torch. I also know how

to braze and solder using an oxygen/acetylene torch.
