Founder - Sofscape Caribe, Inc. 1999 – 2013
Green manufacturing of recycled rubber products (www.sofscapecaribe.com).
• Part of team that developed a new patented molding process for the mass manufacturing of rubber pavers
using crumb rubber from scrap tires. Completely automated system with the capacity of processing one ton
of crumb rubber per hour.
• Manage the daily operations of the manufacturing facility.
• Completed the financial structure for the company startup process with the assistance of the Economic
Development Bank of PR and several angel investors.
• The first complete tire recycling company in Puerto Rico, with accumulative sales over $6m.
• Responsible for all local permits process, installations of manufacturing equipment, technical trainings,
coordinate safety trainings and inspections, trade shows and other entrepreneur duties.
• Sold and completed the installation of Sofscape molding technology to a private/public tire recycling project
in the Emirate of Sharjah (UAE) in a transaction of over $1.6m. Over 3 months at a site outside the city of
Sharjah (desert environment) installing a complete recycling molding line with minimum resources of
equipment and tools.
• In 2010 selected for a business case study at Babson College that describe the challenges of the
entrepreneurship process in Puerto Rico.
• In 2012 develop a complete truck tires recycling processing system with a capacity of processing 15 truck tires
per hour for the production of crumb rubber to be used as raw material in the company molding process.

Engineering Manager – Microsoft Puerto Rico 1995 – 1998
At Microsoft was selected to be responsible of the technical aspect of establishing a CD manufacturing process.
• Responsible for the technical/manufacturing aspects for the production and manufacturing process of the
company CD manufacturing process, from raw material inspection, molding, and screen printing.
• Completed the installation of 4 CD’s manufacturing lines and 2 screen printing machines.

• Reported directly to the plant manager, with a crew of 7 technicians in a production schedule of 24/7.
• Validated the main manufacturing equipments at the fabricators facilities before final installation at company
site. Spend several weeks at facilities in Japan and Germany.
• Responsible for the implementation of ISO-9002 procedures in the technical department.
Molding Engineering – Harvey Hubbell Caribe Inc. 1994 - 1996
• Responsible for the installation of 30 injection-molding machines at new facility for the manufacturing of the
thermoplastics electrical components.
• Coordinate the transfer of other molding equipment from other manufacturing facilities to be consolidated at
the Vega Baja facility.
• Identified each of the molds transferred to the plant and documented the proper process parameter, spare
parts, and raw material requirements.
• Responsible for the installation and proper maintenance of the utilities support equipment such as cooling
towers, chillers, dryers, and air compressors.
• Interviewed and selected the technical crew for the complete molding process and utilities support.
