RELATED EXPERIENCE
SLO Brewing Company
San Luis Obispo, CA 1/2013 – 6/2013
Security
Our main duty is security and public safety. It is our job to check ID's at the front
and back door, ensure no one under age is drinking, keep all alcoholic beverages
within designated areas and resolve any conflicts that may arise. We're also in
charge of cleanliness and maintaining the breweries appearance. We handle
everything from stocking the bar, repairing broken items and janitorial services for
the bars, greenroom and bathrooms. SLO Brew also hosts many shows downstairs
that offer new sets of challenges and a different atmosphere for the staff each night.
I also occasionally covered shifts as a busser in the restaurant.
Shaw Security Management
San Francisco, CA 6/2012 - 12/2012
Private Security Guard and Bouncer
While working for Shaw Security Management, I attended many private events in
Marin and Sonoma County. These events ranged from celebrity weddings,
marathons, raves, spirits festivals, The Mountain Dew Tour, and more. I also
worked as a security guard and bouncer at various bars and clubs in San Francisco.
Our main goals were public safety, checking ID's, patrolling designated areas,
resolving conflicts, disputes or fights and working with San Francisco PD when
problems arrived.
San Rafael Fire Department
San Rafael, CA 11/2011 - 3/2012
Internship
After completing my Firefighter 1 with San Rafael Fire Department I attended the
Paramedic Academy in Ukiah. Once I had completed all of my didactic and
hospital time I started a paramedic internship with l began an internship working
on an ALS ambulance with two other paramedics. I was the lead medic on the
ambulance unless one of the full time paramedics felt it was necessary to step in. I
was in charge of maintaining the equipment in the ambulance, patient assessments,
treatment, delegating tasks to the other paramedics and engine crew and attending
regular training. I worked a 2x4 schedule throughout my internship.
Howard Memorial Hospital
Willits, CA 3/2011 - 8/2011
Paramedic Intern
I worked 240 hours as a Paramedic intern at Howard Memorial Hospital. During
my time I rotated between the following departments: ER, OR, Lab, OB, RT and
ICU, with most of my time spent in the ER and OR. While working at the hospital
I was able to use the skills and knowledge I gained from school to provide patient
assessments and perform treatments. My sole purpose in the OR was to perform
intubations, establish IV's and assist the anesthesiologist.
San Rafael Fire Department
San Rafael, CA 2/2010 - 2/2011
Internship
During my Firefighter 1 internship I had the opportunity to work at three separate
stations in San Rafael. This allowed me to work on the truck, a type 1 and type 3
engine, as well as an ALS ambulance. My duties included all those of a regular
firefighter other than working in IDLH environments. I was responsible for
maintaining equipment, performing station duties, working as a fourth firefighter
and EMT, cross-staffing multiple apparatus, training on the drill ground and in the
class room and studying protocols and procedures. I worked a 2x4 schedule
throughout my internship and had the opportunity to work under two different
Captains with two separate crews. Due to under staffing I was able to work with
dozens of Firefighters throughout my internship and was able to gain information
and learn new skills from each one of them.
Glen Ellen Fire Department
Glen Ellen, CA 6/2009 - 2/2010
Firefighter/EMT
After going through Glen Ellen Fire Departments Firefighter Academy and
volunteering for three months I became a paid on call Firefighter. The departments
academy, drills, volunteering, school and my EMT academy had taught me the
fundamentals of our departments firefighting operations and patient assessments.
Working in a rural area where only one or two staff members may respond to a call
put a lot of pressure on the crew and I. This taught me how to work with what
resources you have, how to delegate quickly on scene and how to work under a
stressful environment.
San Luis Obispo High School
San Luis Obispo, CA 3/2008 - 11/2008
Wrestling Coach
After graduating High School I decided I would continue my wrestling career at
Cuesta College and asked my former coach if I could work with he and the High
School that upcoming season. I was put on staff as the strength and condition
coach during the off-season. Once the season approached I was asked to be the JV
head coach and assistant varsity coach. Coaching gave me a leadership role, taught
me how to work with different personalities and allowed me to work on my
organization skills.
SKILLS
Handyman
I've worked on my parents and neighbor’s home for years, helping with
renovations, yard work and remodels. I've planted over 100 types of plants and
trees, built and maintained compost piles, shoved mulch, gravel, sand and dirt and
installed irrigation systems. I helped my dad design and build a 15x20' pond with a
built in waterfall and stonework surrounding. I've built walls, installed windows,
done minor tile work for bathrooms, built and fixed furniture, moved lighting,
removed and installed toilets and much more. When my parents opened their new
office I removed and helped install all of the existing flooring and carpet, new
bathroom fixtures and toilets, tore down an existing wall and helped paint the
building.
Software
I am proficient with all Microsoft office programs, POS systems, QuickBooks,
AutoCAD and I'm and excellent typist.
