PROJECT NAME: LIGHT WEIGHT AGGREGATE CONCRETE REPLACING COARSE

AGGREGATE BY LECA(Light Expanded Clay Aggregate).

PROJECT SUMMARY:

Experiments to assess the strength of concrete specimens using LECA(Light

Expanded Clay Aggregates) as replacement for coarse aggregates in the concrete for different

grades of concrete using mix design method of IS 10262-2009 code for conventional

concrete and ACI 211.2-98 code for light weight aggregate concrete and to compare the

density of both conventional concrete and light weight aggregate concrete. The result indicate

that about 35% reduction in density can be achieved for light weight aggregate concrete as

compared to that of conventional concrete.
