PROFILE

Over 14 years experience in the oil field working offshore on board 8 point moored

semisubmersible drilling units, Jack-ups and Floating Storage Units as Ballast

Control Operator, Barge Master and Offshore Installation Manager, with solid

experience supervising marine (rig moves, stability, bunker reception and transfer),

drilling and HSE operations, including personnel and contractors management and as team leader during

commissioning stage of units’ building in shipyards and dry docks.

Over 20 years experience as Marine Engineer in the Maritime Transportation Industry working on board of

General Cargo ships, Oil Tankers, Containers Ships, Multipurpose, Reefer and Bulk Carriers.

As OIM I am full responsible for the integrity, safety and security of the MODU including Crew Management on

Board, Quality Processes, Safety and Protection of the vessel, expert in successful management of diverse

nationalities groups of people. Proficient in using technology to enhance data and information management.

Team leader and team player. Recognized ability to identify continuous change actions to reduce operational

costs; operations efficiency and enhance Quality & Productivity. Besides, as OIM in charge of the

commisionig stage during FSUs and vessels building, i was liased with shipyard’s team in order to asure

proper results on behalf of the company and clients.

As BCO and Barge Master my primary responsibility was the stability and safety of the unit, control, maintain

and monitor the MODUs various operating conditions as directed by ongoing drilling / offloading related

activities, carry out deck loading surveys ensuring the MODU stability condition is maintained within the

statutory conditions as laid down in the MODU code, directly responsible for the load planning, de-ballasting

and ballasting operations prior to rig moving operations, My duty as permit to Work controller involves direct

involvement in pre job planning requiring me to provide assistance with formal risk assessment, COSHH

requirements and advice on secondary implications to other unit systems, Leader of the units anchor winch

operating team which involves controlling anchor deployment and anchor recovery during rig moves and rig

positioning over multi-well templates, Also tasked as a winch operator during shallow gas operations should

any emergency situation arise, the loading and discharging of bulks (fuel oil, cement etc.) from / to supply

vessels. Also monitoring usage and ensuring stock levels are maintained at the required levels for all

operations, responsible for producing and maintaining accurate daily marine reports for the unit’s owners and

the operator. This includes the detailed daily stability calculations, both for the current operating condition and

for ensuring compliance with the requirements to bring the unit to survival condition, perform planned

maintenance tasks and checks on various marine systems and machinery. This involves, where necessary,

defect rectification and remedial action as dictated by operational requirements, the constant monitoring of fire

and gas alarm panels and take appropriate action when necessary.
