Summary/Objective
Over 30 years' experience in Surveillance/NDE/QC/QA/Welding Inspection
activities including Supervisory functions and working with and/or
monitoring vendors and suppliers. Broad experience covering power (fossil
and nuclear) and process industries. This includes both new construction
and in-service inspection work. Good experience in international
operations, having worked both long- and short-term overseas assignments in
many different countries.
Current certifications include AWS CWI, ACCP Level II in UT (meets ISO
9712). Prior certifications include ASNT Level III in UT/RT/MT, company
certifications to Level III in RT/MT/PT/VT, API 653 and RP-2X (Shell), UT
IGSCC. Also experienced with pre-heat and PWHT operations on piping and
pressure vessels, WPS/WPQR and MTR review, hydrostatic testing, coatings
inspection.

Representative/Source Inspector. Primary functions are to ensure vendors
adhere to contracted quality programs, verify inspections performed, review
procedures used, inspect to verify accuracy of vendor inspections, document
reviews( Certificate of Compliance and final package). Currently at
Newport News Industrial overseeing fabrication of AP 1000 shield modules
being fabricated for Vogtle Units 3/4 and V. C. Summer Units 2/3 nuclear
power plants. Have also visited Cives Manufacturing for inspection of
embeds and Gerdau rebar for rebar fabrication. Current AACP Level II UT,
CWI and Level II Source Surveillance Inspector.
October 2011-Nov 2012 AREVA NP, Lynchburg, VA
QA/QC for steam generator tubing inspections, plugging, manway removals and
installations. pressurizer re-tubing Certified to ANSI N45.2.6 for
mechanical/welding. Part-time.
May 2011-Sept 2011 Pennoni Associates, Inc., King of Prussia, PA USA
CWI/NDT Technician performing NDT services at fabrication facilities and
customer sites as required. Recent assignments include Port Authority of
NJ/NY as QAQA inspector performing cross checks against erector QC,
Connecticut DOT performing shop inspection (VT/UT) for structural steel for
the New Haven Railroad Station. Certified to Level II UT and MT.
Aug 2009 - Oct 2010 Alstom Power, Stuttgart, Germany
QC Manager/Supervisor at vendor shop In Qingdao, China from August through
November, 2009 for fabrication of 8 Coal Feeders for Neurath, Germany. QC
Supervisor at Alstom Sizhou (Alstom subsidiary) from December 2009 until
November 2010 for fabrication of Slag Remover for RKD 8, Germany and 8 Coal
Feeders for Eemshafen, Germany. Responsible for material verification
(MTR), weld procedure review, NDT procedure review, welder qualification
review, quality inspections, coating application inspections, overall
quality of finished product.
May 2007 - July, 2009 SPX Cooling Technologies, Ratingen, Germany
QC Supervisor/Expeditor for structural steel fabrication at manufacturer's
facility in Guangzhou and Tianjin, China. Responsible for ensuring
dimensional and welding inspection, document preparation, shipping
preparation and storage are all performed in accordance with supplier and
customer specifications. The steel fabrication is for sites in the United
States, Europe and Qatar. Supervise 2 nationals, effectively deal with
customer inspectors and facility management and QC staff. Responsible for
material verification (MTR), weld procedure review, NDT procedure review,
welder qualification review, quality inspections, coating application
inspections, overall quality of finished product.
Oct 2005 - Dec 2006 Zachry Construction, Beijing, China
QC/Welding Inspector responsible for welding Quality Control on the new US
Embassy project in Beijing, China. Monitor welding activities including
preheat when required and interpass temperature, perform UT/MT/PT and VT
inspection of all structural and pressure pipe welding, perform civil and
mechanical inspections, perform pressure testing, create as-built piping
drawings. Work performed in accordance with current US codes-AWS/ASME. Top
Secret security clearance.
Jun 2003 - Oct 2005 Wesdyne International, Madison, PA USA
Senior NDE Specialist performing NDE inspections and examinations on
rotating and pressure retaining equipment in accordance with company
standards, customer specifications and ASME Section IX requirements. Have
completed training and assignments utilizing RD Tech phased array, Paragon
data acquisition, Intraspect single axis data acquisition and manual
applications of NDE methods. Provided training and demonstration of RCP
Shaft examinations using manually operated data acquisition system.
Recently completed an assignment in China supervising the RT and visual
weld examination of RPV safe end nozzle weld replacement. Certified to
LIII in RT, LII in UT/MT/PT/VT (all company certifications).
Jan 2003 - Apr 2003 Scientech Corporation, New Milford, CT USA
NDE Level III (RT/MT/PT/VT) assigned to Calvert Cliffs Nuclear to perform
NDE QA oversight on the NDE contractor for the Steam Generator replacement
project. This included procedure and certification package review,
monitoring for procedure compliance and review of final reports, including
radiographic film review and acceptance.
Aug 1999 - Aug 2002 ONDEO-Degremont, Richmond, VA USA
Senior Quality Control Inspector with responsibility for performing source
and qualification inspections at vendor facilities to monitor and/or
approve fabrication of manufactured and welded mechanical equipment such as
pump skids, tanks, structural assemblies and piping. Verify vendor
fabrication in accordance with drawings and owner specifications. Perform
field inspections when requested by owners. Review contract/engineering
specifications and prepare inspection and test plans based on
specifications, monitor and approve nondestructive and hydrostatic tests,
when required.
Oct 1996 - Aug 1999 GE Inspection Services, Richmond, VA USA
Inspector/Technician (full-time) assigned to provide Nondestructive
Testing/Inspection services on projects located throughout the world.
Performed Ultrasonic/Magnetic Particle/Liquid Penetrant/ Visual/ CWI and
API inspections on a wide array of equipment, including but not limited to
rotating and stationary equipment, turbines, pressure vessels, tanks and
structural steel, and pipelines and related equipment. Acted as Lead
Inspector on projects as required.
Major projects included the following:
QC Supervisor contracted to Century Contractors, Matthews, NC, during
the installation of two package boilers, including P91 high pressure steam
pipe, at the Merck Chemical plant in Elkton, VA. Performed all required
inspections (VT, MT, PT), monitored welding including verifying preheat and
interpass temperatures, scheduled and monitored RT, UT and PWHT including
verifying charts and temperatures, performed walk-downs, scheduled and
witnessed hydrostatic testing, and completed as-built drawings.
QC inspector assigned to work with Flour-Daniel during construction of
the Philip-Morris Expanded Tobacco Project in Richmond, VA. Performed
system walk-downs, witnessed hydrostatic testing, monitored and inspected
welding and performed MT/PT and all UT on the project.
Jul 1996 - Oct 1996 International Inspection Services, Slidell, LA USA
Ultrasonic Specialist assigned to Shell Offshore Group to monitor and
inspect welds fabricated at manufacturer's facility in Taranto, Italy.
Primary responsibility involved performing ultrasonic verification
inspections on primary support components of Shell's Ram-Powell platform.
The purpose of the work was to ensure reliability and accuracy of
manufacturers Ultrasonic personnel. Certified to Shell Offshore
Specifications in accordance with API RP-2X
Feb 1993 - Jul 1996 National Inspection Consult, Ft. Myers, FL USA

Ultrasonic Specialist-Assigned to work with Hamilton-Standard Corporation
performing Ultrasonic Inspections on aircraft propellers at client sites
and designated FAA repair stations. Inspections consisted of manual and
automated ultrasonic methods to determine structural integrity and
thickness of blades and hubs. Sites visited included Air Tahiti in Papete,
Tahiti, IPTN in Bandung, Indonesia, Merpati Airlines at various locations
in Indonesia, and FAA repair stations in Long Beach and Rock Hill, South
Carolina. Certified to Level II in UT in manual and automated methods
unique to Hamilton-Standard. Received FAA Repairman Certificate valid for
the duration of employment.

Ultrasonic Specialist-Assigned to work with Shell Offshore performing
ultrasonic and visual inspections of Dip Chains for the Auger-1 Platform at
manufacturer's facility in Vasteras, Sweden.

NDE Manager
Responsible for the day to day operations for two NDE call out centers,
Richmond, VA and Philadelphia, PA, with operational responsibility for 10
Technicians. Daily activities included sales and service calls, operations
scheduling, estimating and invoicing, procedure preparation, customer
specification and quality requirement review, field service when required.
Responsible for P&L for NDE department. Provide training and certification
qualifications for in-house Technicians. District Radiation Safety
Officer, operating under NRC licenses for both offices. Periodically
assisted with PWHT of piping and pressure vessels as needed, including
major pipe replacement projects at North Anna and Surry Nuclear Power
Plants.
