Physician Assistant and sole provider for a forward deployed Fires Battalion which conducted

Counter-insurgency operations in the Northern Logar and Eastern Wardak Provinces,

Afghanistan, RC-East. Responsible for the healthcare of 545 Soldiers in five subordinate

batteries, as well as over 300 partnered Afghan Security Forces and Jordanian Task Force

personnel. Advised the Battalion Commander and Staff on all aspects of troop medical

management.

o Quickly took the reins of a Battalion void of a PA for over 1 year. With only five months

to prepare for deployment, ensured the Soldiers were medically ready to successfully

deploy despite the truncated timeline.

o Worked tirelessly to prepare the Battalion's medical platoon for a mission which

involved slicing the platoon in support of 13 different platoon-size elements, dispersed

to 5 operating bases across two Afghan provinces.

o Established and was Officer in Charge of three, Level-1 Aid Stations during Operation

Enduring Freedom 10-11.

o Served as the primary the Brigade Combat Team live tissue lab trainer for the Brigade

Combat Trauma Team pre-deployment training.

Joint Task Force Commanders. Responsible for providing medical care to include sickcall,

redeployment education and screening, counseling and preventive medicine for the 3,000-

Soldier, 1st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade with its on-order combat and National Homeland

Security support mission. Worked in conjunction with the Brigade Field Surgeon in advising the

Battalion Commander and Staff on all aspects of troop medical management and Soldier

deployment readiness.

o During the absence of a Brigade Surgeon, was selected over peers to serve as the

2006 National Training Center (NTC) rotation. Treated over 500 real-world patients,

which earned recognition from the NTC Surgeon and Brigade Commander.

medics and medical equipment worth in excess of $250,000.

o Planned, resourced, instructed and supervised all brigade medical training to include the
