Thank you for considering me for the position of Administrative Assistant Specialist. I am presently in the process of separating from the United States Air Force after amassing 30 years of experience in Accounting, Personnel Management, Logistics Support, and Intelligence Collection. I am looking forward to working in an environment of quality and excellence.
I feel my experience as the Operations Coordinator of Defense Attaché Offices within multiple U.S. embassies these past six years, as well as serving as the Logistics Superintendent while on the Inspector General staff on the Air Force European Headquarters Staff are jobs that have provided me with the skills you are looking for. As the Operations Coordinator I ran a diverse team of U.S. and foreign national personnel in accomplishing a critical military mission. In this capacity I refined my bookkeeping skills as I developed and managed a multi-million dollar operating budget for our shop, maintaining meticulous management of our funding. Our program was rated best managed fiscal program in the Latin America theater after achieving a 99.75% effectiveness rate of execution I also handled all of the administrative, travel, and budgeting needs to allow our team to focus on the bigger picture issues. As the Functional Manager/War planner in Europe, I was responsible for 42 countries, and am very versed in program planning, evaluating issues and personnel, and preparing written documents, briefings, talking points, and diagrams for distribution both up and down the chain of command. I contracted leased facilities and oversaw these contracts in multiple European countries to support our daily mission. During this tenure I also served on the inspector general staff as a subject matter expert, evaluating the performance of the many field units. A review of my own programs by the Inspector General in both 2009 and 2012 resulted in no discrepancies being noted. While assigned as the Resource Advisor in 1996 for a 450 man squadron I oversaw a $4.5Mil annual budget, which I again managed with strict oversight. I understand the group dynamic and know how to get the most out of a team Loyalty, both up and down the chain, is my greatest asset, and I enjoy collaboration which maximizes team effectiveness, understanding this is the key which guarantees an organization’s success.
My education has had a heavy emphasis on program management and my Air Force career has been very broad, with a strong emphasis on logistics, resource management, and security, strengths which I feel transfer readily into this position. I have completed 133 semester hours towards a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and am scheduled to graduate this spring from Thomas Edison State College. I have held a Top Secret Security Clearance (TS/SCI w/polygraph) since 2007 that is presently being updated, and am fluent in Spanish and German, with limited Serbo-Croatian.
Please feel free to contact me at 850-***-**** if I can be of assistance or if you have any questions, at your convenience. I feel I can be a great asset to your organization in this capacity.
Respectfully,
//signed//
