Qualifications Profile
Twenty years experience in environmental compliance and consulting including system design, and operation
and maintenance (O&M) of various groundwater and soil remediation technologies. Extensive experience in
O&M supervision of operating remediation systems to maintain compliance with established regulatory
programs. Also experienced in the development and issue of Spill Pollution Control and Countermeasure
(SPCC) plans, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), facility response plans (FRP), and Phase 1
environmental site assessments (ESAs) for sites ranging from multi-family residential/recreational facilities to
commercial/industrial facilities. My engineering experience is preceded by an additional 18 years in industrial
manufacturing as a textile chemist employed in both the conventional and nonwovens textile industry as a
product development and technical service specialist with responsibility for environmental permitting (air,
stormwater and wastewater) and compliance of the manufacturing facility with local, state and federal agencies.
Responsibilities included serving as the main technical resource for operation and trouble-shooting of extensive
process water filtration and recovery systems as well as pre-treatment coordinator for the facility's wastewater
pretreatment facility as permitted by the local POTW.
Core Competencies
Self-directed Problem Solver Hands-On Site Experience
Technical Knowledge Work Well in Teams or Alone Decision Maker
Key Skills
Preparation of engineering design and specifications for remediation systems and technologies including
pump & treat with air stripping, carbon absorption (liquid and vapor), SVE, air sparge, sub-slab vapor
control, AFVR/MPE, and insitu injection.
Extensive O&M experience with environmental remediation technologies used in groundwater
remediation including SVE, air sparge, insitu injection, air stripping, carbon absorption, filtration,
separation and sedimentation, and bio-remediation.
Experienced in coordination of O&M activities required for regulatory compliance of operating
remediation systems, including, but not limited to, permitting with public agencies, routine reporting,
regular performance monitoring, system maintenance and repair, and procurement of raw materials and
system supplies for consistent operation and performance.
Client communications and budget/proposals of system O&M activities.
Experienced in start-to-finish execution of budgets, proposals, inspections, regulatory compliance
assessments, and creation of SPCC plans, SWPPPs, FRPs and Phase 1 ESAs.
Qualified to perform peer-review and certification of design and regulatory documents as a licensed PE
in NC, TN and VA.

Highlights of Performance
Prepared engineering designs and specifications for remediation systems and technologies for various
sites located throughout the southeast.
Supervised and coordinated timely delivery of engineering-related equipment.
Delivered status and monitoring reports to clients, regulatory agencies and senior management on a
regular basis (monthly/quarterly/ semi-annually).
Planned and managed O&M projects including:
JFD Electronics/Channel Master NPL site in Oxford, NC (O&M Project Manager)
BASF-Mebane Groundwater Remediation system in Mebane, NC (O&M Supervisor)
BASF-Charlotte SVE system in Charlotte, NC (O&M Supervisor)
Parker Hannifin SVE/Pump & Treat system in Wake Forest, NC (O&M Supervisor)
Lucent-Gastonia SVE/Pump & Treat system in Gastonia, NC (O&M Supervisor)
Lucent-Winston Salem SVE/Pump & Treat system in Winston Salem NC (O&M Supervisor)
Conducted AFVR (aggressive fluid vapor recovery) events at sites in Snow Hill and Enka, NC to
remove hydraulic oil and fuel oil; respectively, from impacted shallow groundwater and soils.
Performed SVE/AS pilot tests at various sites to collect data necessary for remediation system
design.
Specified system performance parameters necessary for equipment suppliers to construct turn-key
and pre-packaged systems for delivery to remediation sites.
Specified individual equipment to be used in new remediation systems, or for installation at
existing systems to upgrade their performance.
Served as higher level technical resource for O&M field staff regarding O&M and repair of systems
under their operational responsibility.
Start-to-finish execution of budgets, proposals, inspections, regulatory compliance assessment and
construction of SPCC plans, SWPPPs, FRPs and Phase 1 ESAs.
Coordinated work with clients, client-related departments and subcontractors.
Assisted in preparation of proposals for potential new projects.
Supervised budget sections related to project engineering.
Evaluated system performance and functionality to devise ways to improve performance as appropriate.
Ensured proper dissemination of technical information among company, clients and regulatory agencies
as required.
