Integration Semester:
. Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. Full-scope midwifery care to medium-high
risk women in a rural area.
. Total of 62 deliveries independently conducted including management of a
shoulder dystocia, various fetal malpositions, retained placenta, PPH,
placenta abruption, term and preterm stillbirth, and vacuum-assisted
births.
. Second assist during cesarean births.
. Independently assessed and managed the care of 3-4women per hour in the
clinic setting.
. Additional time spent with a fertility and gestation diabetes specialist,
newborn respiratory therapist,
. and physicians performing outpatient procedures.
. Proficient in EPIC, the computer based documentation system.
Intrapartum Semester:
. Providence Hospital: Washington, DC: Urban teaching hospital serving
Latino and low-income families. Full-scope care, including triage, labor
management, postpartum, and newborn care. Skilled in providing culturally
competent care for ethically diverse populations
. Prince George Hospital Center, Cheverly, MD: A busy, urban hospital
serving mostly underserved African Americans and undocumented immigrants
in the DC area. Management of three triage rooms along with the labor
management of up to 6 patients at a time.
Antepartum and GYN Outpatient Semesters:
. La Plata Pediatrics & Women's Health, La Plata, MD: Primary care to a low-
income rural community including sick visits, acute care, gynecology
exams, annual well-women physicals, preventive care, disease prevention,
education, and chronic medical condition management.
. Dimensions OB/GYN, Lanham, MD: Outpatient center for underserved urban
women of the DC area. All outpatient visits, including well-woman and
problem GYN exams, preconception and prenatal visits, diagnostic and
laboratory testing, referrals, and healthy lifestyle education.
. Walter Reed National Naval Academy, Bethesda, MD: Provided full-scope
outpatient care to a diverse military community, including prenatal care,
routine gynecological exams, breast health, menopausal care, preventive
health education, contraceptive and reproductive counseling, including
Mirena and Copper IUD counseling, insertion and removal. Emotional
support and empathy to military wives and families.

delivery/post-partum care, psychiatric, adult, pediatric, and public
health rotations.
. Schweitzer grant recipient: developed a sexual health program for youth
in the Department of Juvenile Services in Baltimore.
. Collaborated with students from the School of Medicine and Public Health
to research and develop a comprehensive health curriculum for underserved
populations of Baltimore including teens, refugees, and Latina's.
. Nominated to participate in the Preconception Peer Educators National
Planning Session in Chicago, IL by faculty at Johns Hopkins School of
Nursing.
. Completed a 3 month clinical rotation in Kampala, Uganda in the Labor and
Delivery Ward.
. Active role in the intake, assessment, labor management, delivery and
postpartum care of over 160 Ugandan women.
Certified Birth Doula, Childbirth and Postpartum

. Held leadership position as outreach coordinator and doula mentor through
the Birth Companion Program at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
. Completed over 350 hours of labor and birth care, conducted prenatal and
postpartum visits.
. Provided emotional, informational, and physical support to women and
partners including breastfeeding education and guidance.
. Advocated for pregnant woman during entire childbirth process.
