Company: VDM Construction (Western Operations) Pty Ltd, 28 Troode St, West Perth, WA 6005
Synopsis: $17million Infrastructure expansion upgrade project for RIO TINTO Iron Ore Mine. Started work on site as a site
supervisor; recently drafted in as quality/site engineer for the project.
Key Responsibilities as Site Supervisor;
Reporting directly to the Project Manager
Monitoring and reporting directly to the client on a weekly basis
Conducting pre start and debrief meetings every day. This involves the ability to motivate the direct employees and
subcontractors to fulfil their Scope of Works to the required Australian Standards and to client’s requests. To ensure that
employees work in a safe environment was our main priority
Key Responsibilities as Quality/Site Engineer;
Liaise with Subcontractors and client over such matters as design schedules and budgets
Ensure construction targets are met to enable payments for our company
Ensure that our company Quality Control/Quality Assurance standards are practiced and implemented
Analysing our Subcontractors ITP’s (Inspection and Test Plans) and creating new ITPs for site specific works
Resolving any TQs (Technical Queries) and NCR’s (Non-Conformance Reports)
Complete the Weekly Force Reports and QMR’s (Quantity/Work hour Performance Reports)
Complete estimates and take off for variation works on site
Coordinating the commissioning procedures for the project
Carpenter TA, Stylewoods, Perth Arena, on Wellington Street, Perth 04/2012 to 09/2012
Key Responsibilities;
Worked full time with Stylewoods as a TA for a carpenter when first arrived in Australia
Jobs varied each day; learning new methods for erecting timber panels on steel studded walls
Responsible for setting out levels for the erection of aluminium battens where timber panels are fixed
