Project : Production Support of 11.5.10.2 and R12

Role : Oracle Applications DBA

Environment : Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2 on RHEL 4

Duration : July 2011 to till date.

Responsibilities during this Project:

. Maintaining the development, test instances with cooperation of onsite

team.

. Patching the Applications on Both Tiers. Extensive Usage of AD

utilities.

. Very well-versed in adadmin, adpatch, adctrl, adident, admrgpch,

FNDCPASS, AutoConfig utilities.

. Clone the instances using Rapid Cloning for 11.5.10.2.

. Database & application server cloning from production to test

environments

. Applied Patches in different modules for fixing the bugs and smooth

running of applications.

. Checking the status of important services like concurrent manager,

form server, web server, application listener and database listener.

. System administration tasks like create users, assigning

Responsibilities during this Project:

. Cloned the various instances and applied patches as required.

. Applied Patches in different modules for fixing the bugs and smooth

running of applications

. Involved in system administration including configuration,

administration and trouble shooting of concurrent managers,

implementation of user security by defining the responsibilities.

. Used the AD utilities like ADadmin, ADpatch, ADctrl etc

. Assigning the Program to Concurrent Manager (scheduling).

. Tracking invalid objects, compiling and validating the invalid objects

using adadmin.

. Patch Management, Autoconfig configuration.

Environment : Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2, Red-Hat Enterprise

Linux 3.0

Duration : June 2009 to Mar 2010

Responsibilities during this Project:

. Creation and Maintenance of Oracle Databases as per the

requirement

. Running Database in Archive/Non-Archive Mode, Tablespace

Creation.

. Grant User Access to Applications based on their Roles.

. Monitoring and controlling user access to the database

. Check Alert Log errors and make necessary actions to rectify

them.

. Oracle database refreshes.

. Applying oracle database patches using opatch

. Taking cold Backups.

. Export / Import of Tables, Tablespaces.

. Testing of Export Files for Database Recovery.

. Oracle Application 11i installation of single node and multi

node.

. Cleaning up of log files of different processes like Apache,

concurrent mangers.

. Planning for backup and recovery of database information and

maintaining Hot Cold Backup and Logical Backups.

. Patch Management, Autoconfig configuration.

. Final task is to make sure that the database application runs

smoothly and minimize the database downtime.
