EFCO, a Pella Company
2011 - Present, Senior Plant Engineer - Monett, MO
Transferred to Monett, MO to assist with the transition of instilling
Pella's manufacturing culture into the recent acquisition of EFCO's
manufacturing facility. Manage engineers, continuous improvement
technicians, maintenance, and facility maintenance employees. Managed
multi-million dollar capital projects and budgets for the plant engineers
and facility projects. Led kaizen events to improve the plants overall
safety, quality, and productivity.
Pella Corporation
2005 - 2010, Senior Plant Engineer - Murray, KY
Promoted to Senior Engineer with the responsibility to transition the
fiberglass product line from research and development to full production.
Assisted in the start up of four assembly lines. Led kaizen events to
improve the plants overall productivity. Implemented an optimization
program on fiberglass saws and glass cutters to increase overall yield.
Improved paint line yield through kaizen and six-sigma projects. Manage
engineers, continuous improvement technicians, maintenance, and facility
maintenance employees. Managed projects and budgets for the plant
engineers and facility projects.
2002 - 2005, Project/Process Engineer - Murray, KY
Transferred to Murray, KY for the new plant start up which launched Pella's
vinyl window and door program. Led kaizen events to improve the plants
overall productivity. Implemented and optimization program on vinyl saws
and glass cutters to increase overall yield. Implemented the quality
program for the Murray vinyl plant. Manage twelve employees in various
roles including maintenance technicians, continuous improvement technician,
preventative maintenance technicians, and quality technicians on three
different shifts. Participated in the implementation of the MP2 system for
the Murray vinyl plant. Received green belt training including six sigma
applications from Western Kentucky Technical College.
2001 - 2002, Corporate Engineer - Pella, IA
Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of frame parts
making equipment for the patio door plant. Responsible for the
implementation of the training, safety, productivity, and quality of the
newly implemented equipment.
1999 - 2001, Continuous Improvement Engineer - Carroll, IA
Responsible for recognizing, developing, executing, and maintaining
projects which promote Continuous Improvement using Kaizen Breakthrough
Methodology. Trained, led, and participated on teams which supported
Continuous Improvement activities. The scope of the teams ranged from
developing standard work to the development of equipment that is unique to
our competitors.
