PROJECT UNDERTAKEN: "Study Of Diesel Engine Assembly & Its Production"
DESCRIPTION: Was associated with SPIL for a 5 week summer internship
programme and undertaken the aforesaid project.
The main areas of study during the internship programme were:
. Complete production process i.e. machining, assembly, cold and hot
testing of diesel engine.
. Different machining operations viz. facing, undercutting, chamfering,
turning, grooving, knurling, drilling, boring, etc.
. Functions and importance of different components of diesel engine i.e.
bed plate, cylinder block, cylinder head, cam carrier, crankshaft,
camshaft, piston, flywheel, clutch, etc.
. Industrial tools of Japanese work culture like KAIZEN, POKA-YOKE, PIKA-
PIKA, 5S, 3M, 3G, etc.
ACADEMIC PROJECT UNDERTAKEN:
TITLE: "Optimization Of Process Capability Of MRR On Al-6063 During CNC
Turning"
DESCRIPTION: In this project we evaluated the process parameters viz.
cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut and their impact on MRR of Al Alloy
during CNC Turning. In this project we derived a relation for estimating
MRR for given set of input parameters and also justified it. Regression
Analysis was used for empirical modeling of MRR to predict the performance
of component.
