Sales Manager

Recruited by the CEO to specifically recruit industry experienced Account

Executives and lead the sales organization with the objective of meeting

aggressive sales revenue goals. After exhausting the supply of experienced

reps the focus changed to hiring inexperienced reps and training them to be

successful Account Executives.

o Responsible for achieving the top line sales revenue and gross

margin goals established by the management team.

o Grew sales revenue from 17MM to 27MM (an increase of over 45%)

in an industry dominated by very large competitors and that

experienced negative growth during this period.

o Recruited, trained, and mentored more than a dozen Account

Executives who then accounted for the substantial growth during

my tenure.

o Responsibilities included overseeing all sales operations

including supervising two Sales Managers, 20 + Account

Executives, and a number of internal sales support associates.

Senior Key Account Manager

Promoted to this position with the directive to develop new National

Account and improve the profitability of the major clients in the Wisconsin

marketplace. Responsibilities in this position included managing the home

office relationships for the National and large Regional accounts with

headquarters in the markets.

o Responsible for National Account Relationships including,

Manpower, Johnson Controls, Aurora Healthcare, Northwestern

Mutual, TDS Communications, CUNA, Miller Brewing, RW Baird, and

the Kohler Company.

o Grew the Wisconsin market National Account business to over

$40MM and was among the leaders in the nation in gross margin

percentage.

o Managed the electronic commerce process for all major accounts

to reduce operational costs for both OfficeMax and the clients.

o Conducted monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual business

reviews based on the client's requirements.

o Created all documentation and presentations for the business

reviews and selling presentations using PowerPoint, Excel, and

Word.

Office Essentials was purchased by Boise Cascade in 1996. As the Sales

Manager for Office Essentials it was an easy transition to the District
