Dy Chief Manager - UIT ( 2010 - till date)

I was promoted to Dy. chief manager. In this role, I achieved following.

. Study and understand the actual need of bandwidth for running of SAP

and EDITORIAL applications smoothly for each offices across the all

the 56 offices and propose for customized bandwidth.

. Actively involve I selection of suitable Infrastructure (from CISCO)

and technology (OSPF and BGP) for restructuring the network across all

56 locations. The OPEX saved against reconsideration of bandwidth was

Rs. 5 Crore per year.

. Managing a team of six engineers for smooth running of SAP and

EDITORIAL APPLICATION across the country.

. Another achievement in this role. Moving physical servers to Virtual

server environment through Virtualization infrastructure. The

installation was done with help of System Integrator. Installation

includes

> VMWARE 5.0 and ESXi on Fujitsu hardware.

> Smooth transfer of physical server to logical server platform.

It helps in saving the AMC cost of Rs 40 lacs for physical

servers to the organizations.

. Another achievement in which I was working as Project delivery

manager. It includes timely commission and installation of

infrastructure such as PROXY appliances, Firewall etc. for providing

INTERNET services to the users.

Senior Manager - IT ( 2007 - 2010)

In this role, I had been given responsibility for different upcoming

networking projects for ERP (SAP) implementations.

. Networking project for upcoming building at Noida for more than 1500

users. In this project, I was involved from beginning includes passive

and active component selection for both data and voice network. I had

worked as team leader for entire project. Achievement in this project

was its completion in time through better VENDOR coordination.

. The entire project was designed and executed under my supervision with

a team of 4 persons.

. Managed the IT infrastructure with a team of 4 engineers for almost

one year for smooth operation of web application services for Times

Job, simply marry and other web portals. It also include smooth

running of SAP ERP at the new office.

. All the group companies operating from different locations were

integrated in the new building. It saved the OPAX by 35 lacs per annum

for the organization. The existing network infrastructure had been

unitized for upcoming projects within the organization.

Manager - Modernization IT (2004 - 2007)

I was promoted to Manager. In this role, I executed following.

1. Manage the entire network infrastructure across the 10 locations with

optical fiber lines and microwave technology.

2. Creation of Project documentation for upkeep of the network.

3. Modernization activity for implementation of new technology for

business needs.

Dy. Manager - Modernization IT (2001 - 2004)

In this role, I was assigned following responsibilities

1. Manage the newly setup network with a team of 5 engineers.

2. Study and customizing the network for faster expansion.

3. .Implementation of pre-press activities involving mission critical

applications of the press.

Achievements:

1. Introduction of video conferencing technology across multiple sites

for editorial needs in TOI so as to improve the content .through

2. Expanded video conferencing network on all India basis across 14

locations.

Assistant Manager - Modernization IT (1999 - 2001)

I was promoted to Assistant manager with following roles.

I was involved in one of the major project consisting of restructuring the

entire Wide Area Network with layer 3 switches and high end routers and

firewalls.

This was done across 42 locations on all India basis. This resulted into

seamless transfer of high bandwidth of data with response time of 2 seconds

for the users.

The technology and infrastructure used in this project was from CISCO.

Senior Officer - Modernization IT (1997 - 1999)

Joined Times of India group as Senior officer. In this role, I was given

responsibility for

1. Installation of new network at one of office of TOI.

2. Training to end user on application software for editorial needs.

3. Maintenance of Local Area Networks of more than 1000 nodes, also LAN

management for different locations.

4. At as a team member for smooth implementation of Microwave link. It

helped in saving time for page transmission from editorial pre-press

site to printing press for printing newspaper with color content and

hence saving valuable time for the printing.
