Dear Human Resources Manager:

Please accept my resume for consideration for the position of VP Operations, Fresh Slice.

In my 15 years of management experience I have managed a diverse range of services in the Healthcare and the Hospitality sector which includes Higher Education and Department Store Food Services and Entertainment.

Over the past 6 years I have managed a Cook Chill Food Service operation and support service functions for a Mental Health hospital producing & serving over 350,000 meal per year. Additional to the patient service operation I managed 2 retail food service locations, catering & vending operations, support service functions which include facility parking, switchboard, materials management, mailroom and copy centre services & transportation of goods and patient portering; with a team of 70 plus employees.

Some of the initiatives I introduced were step by step Health & Safety written procedures with picture illustrations on how complete procedures in a safe manner, following manufacturer specifications. I also provided front line employees with in-service training sessions to ensure compliance standards were met. All procedures were developed in collaboration with frontline employees and procedures were shared with the JOHSC for feedback and endorsement.

Before the Health Centre purchased Meditech 6.0 I developed an on-line ordering system utilizing MS Excel which helped in ease of ordering supplies for the departments along with distribution of supplies. Prior to this the system was paper driven.

I created a Marketplace retail food service experience with a focus on product merchandising, development of in-house food concepts. Implemented Operating Standards on cash handling and financial reporting.

Additionally I developed a computerized Knowledge Resource System which allowed front line employees access to these procedures and work routines anytime during their shift for reference.

I lead the hospital management team forums and introduced several training sessions with focus on creating a more informed management team as it relates to workplace safety; as well addressing rising NEER costs with a focus on reducing workplace injuries.

These sessions focused on understanding the Health & Safety Act as well the role of the Supervisor under the act. The prime focus of the training sessions would lead the entire management team to focus on key injury types by program and service as well develop key strategies to put procedures in place to prevent reoccurrence of injuries. These sessions were co- lead by Occupational Health and Wellness and the Human Resources team.

I can appreciate that you receive many resumes over the course of the year, and hope that you will consider me as a successful candidate. I would like to thank you for taking the time to review my resume and hope that I have the opportunity to meet with you to further discuss my qualifications.

Sincerely
