Originally provided consulting services in the area of redesign and operational
i mprovements in the Macomb and Oakland Emergency Departments. In 2007, became the
A dministrative Director of these two campuses until, May, 2011, responsible for 200 +
F TE’s, as well as the 70 + FTE’s physician and physician extender employees (employed by
t he hospital) . Ensured that nursing and physician care rendered met both hospital and
regulatory standards-JCAHO, Medicare and Medicaid, as well as AOA. In terpreted
physician and nurse’s notes, preparing medical record charts, diagrams etc. for the legal
department for any patient concerns or investigations. Identify and remedies operational
p roblems while continuously searching for performance improvement of systems and
operations. Develops and recommends policies, procedures and/or programs and processes
to improve or enhance the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of outcomes . Actively
a ttended and participated on the legal review team for all pending liability / culpability
cases received by the hospital-goal was to analyze each case for medical issues that did/ did
not meet the medical standards of care. Responsible for revenue enhancement, charge
optimization for both physician and nursing within documentation of procedures as well as

Primary responsibili ty for 200 FTEs of ED physicians and Nurse Practitioners. Also
managed a physician billing company with gross billing of $100 million, monthly payroll of $
1.6 million and managed an administrative billing staff of 28 FTEs. Contract consisted of
six (6) acute care ED settings.
Oakwood HealthCare System, Dearborn, M I 1983 - 2003

Responsible for 5 acute care ED's with 600 FTEs total and a $69 million dollar budget,
i ncluding the contractual management, as well as the human resource issues, of the
physicians and physician extenders; Successfully invented and ini tiated the 30 M inute
Guarantee, an approach that provides for each patient to see an ED physician within 30
m in after arrival with care being initiated. Received national recognition for this program
w hich was initiated in July, 2000.

Responsible for 113.2 FTEs and a $ 25 million dollar budget; responsible for 28 physicians
and their contracts; engineered 10 million dollar renovation to the ED (2 phases);
operationally responsible for day to day operations, budget, and service business

Responsible for 43.2 FTEs on the afternoon shift; managed all disciplines, including union
employees; facilitated quality care to all patients and ensured t imely intervention by
physicians; responsible for staff scheduling for the shift
