• Planned layout, installed and repaired wiring, electrical fixtures,

apparatuses and control equipment.

• Planned new and modified installations to minimize waste of materials,

provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly, hazardous and

unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.

• Prepared sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, and followed

diagrams and blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring was installed

before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring.

• Measured, cut, bent, threaded, assembled and installed electrical conduit,

using tools as hacksaw, pipe threaded and conduit bender.

• Gathered tools and supplies to be used at work site.

• Drilled holes for wiring with power drill and pulled or pushed wiring through

opening.

• Traced out short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test

meter.

• Assisted in lifting, positioning and fastening objects, such as wiring,

conduit and motors.

• Disassembled defective electrical equipment, replaced defective and worn

parts and re-assembled equipment.

• Connected wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.

• Installed control and distribution apparatuses, such as switches, relays

and circuit-breaker panels, fastening them in place with screws and bolts.

• Connected power cables to equipment, such as electric ranges and

motors, and installed grounding leads.

• Tested continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of

components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeters, batteries and

buzzers and oscilloscope.

• Repaired faulty equipment and systems.
