Career Background:
I have over ten years of project services experience in the mining,
pharmaceutical, forestry, and oil & gas industries. I also have over
ten years production control experience in the manufacturing industry.
In addition to my current qualifications I have completed training on

Project Controls Lead - Rail CTL
The project is a green field development of an iron ore mine complete
with port, rail and infrastructure facilities, to support the
transportation of iron ore along a 650km railway. Responsible for
weekly updates of sub-consultant labour and expense costs, monthly
updates of project status, financials, cost reports, CFM commitments
with incurred and cash flows, unrecorded liabilities along with
variance reporting, and quarterly updates of resource staffing plans.
As required: advance invoice preparation, input to SAP WBS generation,
budget creation, change management, review and analyze project
schedule, detailed review and approval of sub-consultant costs and
supporting documentation, review and approval of construction and
service contracts, reviewing contractor PEP, monthly reports,
schedules, progress data and invoices.

Sr. Project Controls Specialist
The projects are FEL1 and FEL2 studies of potential underground mining
opportunities. Duties include preparing and maintaining the annual
project budgets. Ensuring Prism is up to date with cost budgets,
accruals, payments, contracts and percent complete. Producing
Primavera schedules for FEL2 through to the Execution phase that align
with the project work breakdown structure. Monthly reporting of the
current FEL schedules, cash actual figures as well as forecasts,
accruals, expenditure actual figures and forecasts, remaining
commitments, safety performance and future project activities.
Reviewing of vendor invoices for proper coding and ensuring payment is
made.

The project consists of front-end engineering design of a cobalt-gold-
bismuth open-pit mine and potentially an underground mine. Duties
include contract administration, change management, progress
measurement, review of expenses and invoices, creation of cash flow
and monthly management reports, maintaining a neutral cash position.

Kearl Project, Imperial Oil (May 2007 - July 2008)
Project Controls Lead
This is a front-end distributed engineering design project for an oil
sands mining, pipeline and upgrading project. Responsibilities
include coordinating, managing and reporting the duties of estimating,
scheduling, cost control, project accounting and document control
staff of the Utilities portion of the project. Also includes analysis
of engineering earned value progress, manpower, budgets and forecasts,
change management, risk mitigation, project financial forecasting and
reporting, as well as ensuring alignment with the project schedule and
invoice. Travel to Calgary was required.
Victor Diamond Mine Project, De Beers Canada Inc. (Sept 2004 - May
2007)
Project Accounting / Cost Control
This multi-million dollar project encompassed the permit, front-end
engineering design and detailed design phases of an open-pit diamond
mine located in Attawapiskat, Ontario. Duties and responsibilities
included:
o Monthly cost reviews to confirm completion estimates, accruals,
commitments, and discuss variances and upcoming expenditures not in
original budget.
o Preparing and maintaining the project budget/actual flows - committed,
incurred (GAAP), cash (actual) for the life of the project.
o Project costs reports, month end close out, consolidating Owner's costs
and reconciling the cost system with client cost reports.
o Reporting GAAP expenditures, deposits and cash flows, legal costs, fixed
assets, asset retirement, PST, foreign currency adjustments and cash,
contingencies and contractual obligations.
o Supervising entry of client invoices and the cheque run. Preparing month-
end cost tables for the client monthly financial report as well as their
year-end tax schedules.
o Reporting the monthly AMEC project financial review and reforecast.
Tissue Project - Winder, Irving Tissue (March 2004 - Aug 2004)

This was a winder rebuild project. My duties were to verify invoices,
effort hours, expenses, subcontracts, purchase orders and change
notices, forecasting of cash flow.
TorPharm Expansion Project, Apotex (August 2002 - March 2004)
Site Document Control / Plant Start-up Commissioning
Apotex expanded their pharmaceutical plant to include an additional
~360,000 sq ft. I spent 1-1/2 years at site document control followed
by a few months of participation in commissioning of the building,
while practicing the industry's good documentation practices and
marking up final drawings for as built status.

Rebuild projects varied in size from a few thousand to several million
dollars. Major activities included monitoring project budgets using
Microsoft Access and SAP Project Management module. Creation and
