Participated in primary healthcare clinical rotations throughout Miramichi, New Brunswick and

surrounding areas:

Miramichi Medical Day Clinic: Provided general medical care and treatment to patients in this

community health care center to clients of all ages.

Doaktown Community Health Center: provided primary health care to clients of all ages.

Diagnosed and treated minor illnesses and injuries, screened for the presence of chronic disease,

and monitored patients with acute and stable chronic disease. Prescribed medications (as defined

by provincial legislation) and ordered/ interpreted the results of screening and diagnostic tests.

Worked in collaboration with physician and other health professionals on team. Referred patient

to physician and consultation of specialized health resources for treatment. Performed suturing,

cryotherapy, punch/excisional biopsies, and acrochordon removal.

Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home: worked in collaboration with an inter-professional team in a

Long-Term Care setting. Provided health assessments, diagnosed and managed the care of

residents related to acute episodic and chronic conditions. Developed and implemented plans of

care and provided health counseling and emotional support in the areas of health promotion and

the prevention of illness.
