S MS PROJECT Designed & supplied by SMS Siemag (Formerly SMS Demag)

• Engaged in erection and assembly of the new SMS extension project for Basic

Oxygen Furnace (BOF).

• Looking after the erection and commissioning of BOF CONVERTER (180 t x 2)

i ncluding Bull Gear Assembly, Dog House etc.

• Erection, alignment and commissioning of Oxygen lance and Sub lance system,

A RS, slag retaining device and other associated equipments for the functioning

of BOF converter.

• In terconnecting nit rogen piping for emergency drive and water piping for cooling

of lance and sub lance along with oxygen piping for blowing.

• Erection and alignment of motors, coupling, shafts, sleeves, brackets, valve rack

s tations, pneumatic cabinets etc.

• Various welding techniques including M IG, Arc welding, Argon welding, gas

welding including their testing using non-destructive testing (NDT) i.e. Dye

penetrate test, Ult rasonic inspection and Radio wave testing.

• Coordinate and follow up with structural & equipment erection contractors, civil

and electrical department for smooth progress of the work.

• Planning of various resources for optimizing their utilization in day to day

activities in project work.

• Daily t racking of progress and generate daily and monthly progress report.

• Man & Material Management.
