I have been in pest control/termite work for more than 20 years, applying, sales, service, and
chemical safety training for new employees. As a certified state technician for 19 years I have a
vast knowledge of chemical safety, container labeling, storage, containment, and proper
application techniques. As a District Supervisor I was a supervisor for up 40 employees in 12
counties. Duties included, but not limited to, daily DOT inspections to equipment and vehicles,
safety training in accordance with OSHA and DOT, making sure all equipment and vehicles are
in good working order, scheduling repairs or replacements as needed. Daily, weekly and monthly
production, time, spending meetings and reports. The application of herbicide to VDOT right of
ways. Skid Steer and Flagger Trainer. Knowledge of proper set up and tear down techniques of
scaffolding in accordance with OSHA. Knowledge of proper fall protection and rigging
techniques. HR duties include, pre-hire and random drug screenings, the hiring and termination
of employees. Accident investigations, (internal and for Workers Comp Insurance), OSHA and
Safety training for new hires, (Haz Com, PPE, Confined Space, Lock Out Tag Out, Power
Industrial Trucks, Blood Bourne Pathogens, and Fire Ext Safety), conduct monthly supervisor
safety meetings, keep track of fork truck, crane, and housekeeping inspections and audits. Pull
monthly/quarterly/yearly checks and samples for hazardous dusts (i.e. silica, heavy metals) and
noise levels in automotive ductile iron facility. Make sure ALL containers are properly labeled.
Conduct hearing tests, both base line and yearly. Inspect and send for repair any slings in need of
repair or testing. Review and maintain ALL MSDS’s that enter 3 facilities. First Aid, (including
but not limited to, eye washing, minor sprains, cuts and contusions), and ordering of medical
supplies. Daily and weekly plant and road side safety inspections and recording findings.
Responsible for safety supplies ordering and spending as well as maintenance work orders, both
internal and sub-contractors, and overseeing work. Proficient in Microsoft Programs, PLEX, Q-
Quest time systems, security gate systems, and developing Power Point presentations. Able to
operate skid steers, fork trucks, man lifts, back hoes, and many other powered industrial
equipment. I provide 24 hr coverage for all shifts for any illness, injury, investigations, drug and
BAC testing, as well as any other Safety or HR problem that may arise in facilities across South
West VA . I also provide after hours and or emergency drug and BAC testing to Local Hospitals,
independent companies, as well as local government entities.
