Professional Accomplishments

• I started my shipbuilding career at Bender shipbuilding in 1998. I went through the welder’s

school program learning flux core and stick welding. Upon completion, I moved on to learning

to build vessels. We built tugs, super tugs, and supply vessels and was promoted to second-

class ship fitter and was in a position to become one of the youngest 1st class and master

craftsmen in the company before my departure from the company.

• I moved on to further my career as a skilled craftsman at the age of 21 as a 2nd class fitter at

Alabama shipyard and quickly moved up to 1st class within three months and increased my

earnings. I was one of the last six ship fitters in the yard working on my shift before I was laid

off due to the lack of work left in the company.

•I moved on from there after having learned many skills and went on to learn how to effectively

read navy and coast guard drawings and building multiple ships, such as DDG,DDX,LPD,LHA,

AND COAST GUARD ASSEMBLYS. I learned to use Auto levels and Laser levels to get the

Job done efficiently. I moved up in one year from being 1st class with Northrop Grumman to

working as a Work Lederman for five years and after that promoted as Foreman. We had

tolerances of 3/16 to inch, and some tolerances being 1 millimeter. We had to suffice each

assembly and pass Quality Assurance, A.B.S., Navy and Coast Guard specs. I have ran crews

as big as 27 team members to as small as 8. Able to keep up with budgets, Do progress, put in

time for employees, set goals, commit to schedules, and keep notes to when problems arise.
