Launched full manufacturing operation in the US to become a DoD Aerospace
Prime Contractor, from what had been a R&D facility for Canadian
division. Responsible for General and Product Management of unique
military hardware for the Army Engineers, EOD and Special Forces. Annual
sales over $10M. California operation moving to New York in 2013.

products ahead of schedule, under budget and with zero customer rejects

Startup of US manufacturing operation for German company, which services
the power inductor and vibrator feeder industries; Exceeded goals for
time, productivity and profitability. Responsibilities included: Program
Management, Customer Interface, Manufacturing, Quality, Production
Control, Purchasing and Facilities.
. Reorganized what was a distributorship of components into a world-class
manufacturer of custom power inductor hardware, transferred magnetic
manufacturing capability from Germany to US for high power inductors
for NYC subway system. Product had to be built in US from minimum 65%
US made components per contract
. Hired and trained qualified staff for all areas, implemented ISO
9001:2008 compliant quality system, developed qualified suppliers and
established assembly processes and work instructions, implemented 5S
methods. Coordinated translating prototype documentation from German to

7/1997 to 2/2005
Brought in to turnaround division culture of stagnancy and antiquated
methods to one of engaged personnel, quality products and rapid
production cycles; achieved with existing staff through team
collaboration, Kaizen, 5S and Lean techniques. Reported to the President
and led three divisions for this manufacturer of Aerospace, Military and
Space Satellite power conversion systems, power modules, hybrids and
electromechanical relays. Annual sales over $20M.
. Ensured delivery to customers was on-time and under budget. Increased
manufacturing shipments of one division from $7 Million to $12 Million
in first 18 months and successfully integrated another company acquired
by Babcock.
. Setup in-house fully automated SMT operations. Achieved the rare NASA
Certification to produce space qualified CCAs. Accomplished through
research of materials, processes and certification criteria, added
equipment - including CNC machining - hired qualified Manufacturing
Engineer, and implemented 5s and visual factory
. Reduced lead time by 10 weeks and cost for CCAs by 28%; increased
reliability and customer confidence to 100%
. Brought 27 unique space borne product designs from concept to full
production for prime government contractors, including Space Qualified

flow, creditors, loss of business, restoration of productivity,

Factory, Cell/Lean manufacturing, automated testing, and ESS screening.
Reduced production delays, improved on-time delivery and reduced
defects led to additional military contracts exceeding $50 million for

. Brought Magnetic Manufacturing capability in-house to build
transformers, coils and toroidal inductors. Project included design,
equipment, hired specialist, setup processes. Cut lead-time in half,
reduced cost by 44%, sped-up new design prototyping and improved
