Responsible for managing the projects of refreshing all servers in the Lexington,
KY Datacenter including
Windows, AIX and DEC Operating Systems servers in the Lexington, KY
Datacenter.
Refreshed hardware for 72 servers in 2008 and 55
servers in 2009 which stopped the unnecessary
wasteful spending of $500/month per server to
continually extend the hardware leases rather than
complete the projects of refreshing the hardware. I
received numerous recognition awards for my
efforts in creating very aggressive work schedules
and high-dollar cost savings to achieve outstanding
results.
Saved the company over $300k in wasteful
spending of server lease extensions due to over
the 2 year backlog.
Coordinated resources from all of the
hardware/software vendors to the outsourced
application folks from WiPro and also engaged in-
house Applications Teams, as well.
Achieved 100% success rate of server refreshes
and no production system outages occurred due to
our refresh efforts and ensured complete customer
satisfaction was achieved and also worked to
improve each project by documenting processes
and creating best practices which had previously
not been done.
Compiled financial analysis of projects including
costs, such as ROI and calculating intangibles such
as disaster recoverability and impact of end-user
system availability to acquire Business Case
feasibility study and ultimate upper level
management approval.
Organized and led the Mainframe Reclamation
Storage Project which involved many different
internal and external teams to prevent the $500k
purchase of a new storage device. Our efforts
took the mainframe storage utilization from 97%
down to72% in 3 months. We received reward
recognitions for our efforts.
Worked various other IT ad-hoc projects, such as
Business Objects, SQL upgrades, etc.
