PROMINENT EXPERIENCE / NOTABLE CONTRIBUTIONS
Lead Planner for a $1.4 and $2.5 million asphalt refinery turn-around
projects. Successfully developed the project scope, (conceptual planning
requirements, cost and scheduling control list, Appropriation for
Expenditure (AFE), materials management plan, information distribution or
communication process, safety considerations, and quality control measures)
and led project execution. Both projects completed with no safety or
environmental issues, on time and within budget constraints.
Increased production by 250kg per hour (generating over $10 thousand per
day in revenue), through the integration of a new distillation tower valued
at $17 million. As the lead Electrical and Instrumentation Technician;
collaborated with department representatives on schedule attainment;
monitored expenditures and implemented cost control measures to remain
within budgetary constraints; and led a team of six in the installation,
calibration, and commissioning of E&I equipment.

Instrumental (Project Team Member) in the design and implementation of a
new Distributed Control System (DCS), combining three remote control rooms
into one master control center, and projected to save in excess of $250
thousand per year for a major chemical plant. Built and installed remote
Input/Output (I/O) cabinets to support over 15 thousand analog and digital
I/O; verified and corrected existing loop sheets; installed remote I/O and
wiring; redlined loop sheets, tested and commissioned loops. Participated
in the programming and troubleshooting of Siemens Process Control System
(PCS) 7 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
Team Leader for the instrumentation and electrical design of a cooling
tower development project valued at $4 million. Led three technicians in
determining system requirements and specifications; managed the resource
procurement process; facilitated the system integration and planning
process; scheduled phases and completed the installation. Completed on
time and within budget constraints, projected savings over a period of five
years estimated at $10 million.
Recognized for expertise as an Electrical Instrumentation and Control
Technician, possessing diversified knowledge of plant operations,
maintenance management, and a variety of electronic, instrumentation, and
mechanical operating systems, to include:
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (Siemens, Easton, Allen-Bradley,
Square-D), digital processors, analog / digital converters, digital meters,
controllers, power supplies, transducers, electronic relays, solid state
switching gear, supplementary voltage, electronic measuring tools,
distribution panels, power conditioners, motor start controls,
transformers, interconnectors.

. Supervises craftsmen (machinists, welders, electricians, instrumentation
technicians, pipefitters, insulators, planners) and seven contractors in
maintaining the reliability of facility assets.
. Implements, provides oversight, and executes a variety of operating
programs to increase productivity improve operations, and sustain the
reliability of equipment (facility maintenance, mechanical integrity,
reliability strategy, emergency response, quality assurance and control,
outage planning, budgeting and cost control measures, resource
procurement, purchasing and contracting, safety, staffing, and
professional development).
. Analyzes and monitors the preparation, distribution, and accuracy of
documentation (logs, maintenance records, technical manuals, equipment
operation records, incident reports, checklists) to improve performance,
facilitate continuity in the work process, and identify key performance
metrics.
. Establishes viable working relationships and collaborates with the
refinery executive team, customers, clients, contractors, service
providers, management and department heads on operational concepts and
procedures.
