PROJECT DETAILS:

The project is on Bio-medical instrumentation titled “An optimized Interoperable

Cyber physical system for multipurpose medical Devices using medi-net technology”.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

It is a matter of concern that non-communicable diseases (NCDs), primarily cardio

vascular diseases, diabetes mellitus and chronic respiratory diseases, have overtaken

communicable diseases as the leading cause of death and disability.

The proposed cyber physical device monitors the general ailments of the public and alerts

them on abnormalities as well as maintains a database on the record of patient's details. To

measure heart abnormalities we use an ECG monitor where TL072 and TL074 JFET's are being

used, blood pressure is measured using pressure sensor MPX59, temperature is measured using

the LM35 sensor and for blood glucose we use a glucose measuring circuit. The output of the

receptive devices is amplified and is annexed to ARM7 LPC2148 processor and data are

processed and transmitted via GSM/GPRS modem for media independent handover. The mode

switch helps to toggle between the desired mode and the driver circuit helps to drive an alarm

circuit which alerts the patient during abnormalities.

In the receiver section the transmitted signals are received and viewed by the doctor using

NI LabVIEW software. The crafting of the system with ARM7 LPC2148 increases speed, good

power efficiency and better performance.
