Career Summary
National Iranian Drilling Company, Ahvaz, Iran, 1990-2009
Provides drilling technical services to (National Iranian Oil Company) for all of its 60 offshore and onshore drilling rigs with
6400 qualified and experienced personnel .
I employed in NIDC since 1990, I passed 6 month training co urse on drilling rigs and received the degree of assistant drille r,
during this years, I established drilling laboratory and the Engineering department of Drilling Material Procurement as well
as conduct many successful engineering projects, in addition published three text books, plan and teach two new training
courses based on my published text books in the training department those had impact effects on drilling performance and
saved a lot money for my employee.

Professional Experience
Construction& Commissioning manager and owner representative of jack up offshore drilling Rig, 2012-2013
Senior Engineer of Research & Development Department 2002-2009
Selected Projects
Premature washout & twist off of the drill string in drilling fields.
10 to 45% of the drilling contractors costs are related to the drill string failures, the rate of drill string failure in som e of
the Iranian drilling fields was abnormal. In some drilled holes more than 70 wash out and twist off were happened it is
too much higher than normal.
Results: The conducted research project successfully identify the main reasons, failure analysis showed that 100% of
failed elements were due to fatigue and the main reason of fatigue was drill st ring vibration due to drilling condition. By
changing the drilling condition and controlling string vibration failure rate backed to normal and saved more than 5
Million US$ per year.
The rotor's hard coating of the down-hole motor
Life time of down hole motors is a function of the rotor's hard coating life time for this reason every improvement on that
will increase the drilling time of down hole motors and decrease the cost of drilling, In this research the main reasons of
premature failure of rotor's hard coat have been identified and a new rotor's hard coat developed.
Results: Exist of Cl Ion and the hard particles in drilling fluid deteriorate hard Cr drastically because we can not change
the media we changed the rotor's hard coating this increased the rotor life by ten times and save 3 Millions US $ per
years.
Estimation of coil tubing life time.
Coil tubing is one of the drilling technical services in NIDC, life time of that is a function of number of round trips, depth
and pressure of well and H2S content of drilling fluid, according to the work condition thickness and shape of tubes are
changing gradually no precise life time prediction means lost of money.
Results: In this research the domestic oil and gas holes condition and effects of them on coil tubing life time
successfully studied and newly method for precise life prediction developed this save 2 Million US$ per year.
Repairing the1050 kw generator's shafts.
Electrical power station of each drilling RIG is equipped with four 1050 KW generator, often the main shaft of the
generators in bearing section are worn out and under sized and needed to resize by build up, after repairing number of
those shafts were broken from the bearing section area, in this research i identified the main reasons of shaft failure.
Result: W elding is the common method of build up and milling for the resizing, in this method base metal was changed
and stress concentration was created on the surface and fatigue crack was initiated from the surface and was
propagated rapidly I developed a method for repair by use of thermal spray and can save more than 10,000,000 us$
per year.
Selected Achievements
Undertook the design and construction of resource development projects such as high pressure pumps, jars, land
drilling rigs steel structure, mud tanks, brake-rims of draw works and so on. The equipment needed to replace or
repaired and it was impossible to buy them from manufacturers or the other providers therefore had to repair,
refurbishment and construct using domestic manufactures. In this process NIDC has to provide the technical
specifications and it resulted in a savings of USD$20,000,000 per year.
Developed domestic manufacturer by reverse engineering design and prioritized company needs and feasibility study
for domestic manufacturing. Provide technical specifications of the needed parts and machines to domestic
manufacturers and assessed if they were capable of doing the work based o n skill, machinery and capital. The end
result was a vendor list of qualified domestic manufacturers who had ability to build needed parts and machines.
Supervised manufacture process, quality control of the built parts and machines by the lab and field test after that issue
certificate for mass production.
Failure analysis of failed parts and provide an instruction for build or repair after that supervise build or repair process.

Professional Experience
2000 -2002
Head of Drilling Material Procurement Engineering Department
Projects
Offshore Jack Up Drilling Rig Refurbishment
Iran khazar the newly build offshore drilling Rig in Caspian sea punched through while spot in march 2001, more than
11,000 tons of steel structure dropt down more than 11 m therefore three legs of them bent and Rig also floated i was
technical member of Iran Khazar committee for repairing and refurbishment and field executive manager.
Results: The innovated repair method finished the project sooner and cheaper than our expectation my technical
management in contractor’s selection and supervision on processes produced the best result at the end. The main
challenges in this project related to the welding procedures and legs alignment I developed new methods to overcome
on those challenges. It was two years project with more than 15,000,000 US $, Iran Khazar went back to operations
successfully and the daily rate was USD$55,000 per day.
Selected Achievements
I established Drilling Material Procurement Engineering Department in 2000, it had an impact effects on the quality and
quantity of the drilling machines and equipment's.
Normally NIDC purchased more than USD$100,000,000 per year but after 2000 every section bought their requirement
by themselves. I brought all purchases under single management and control, centralization of purchases saved
millions US$ per years.
Prioritization of the company needs based on the received request form operation system.
Specify possibility of build or procurement of goods from domestic or international market.
Provide technical specification of needed goods and issue procurement request and send them to trade section.
Asses the received bids and accept or reject of them based on the technical specification.
1995-2000
Head of Research Drilling Engineering Department
Standardization drilling rigs equipment since NIDC have many drilling rig types, for stock items identification we need to
standardize all equipment's, this reduce stock items and save millions US$ per years
Undertook the design and construction of resource development projects such as onshore and offshore drilling rigs
The old offshore and onshore drilling rigs need to refurbish, for this reason we plan to change the drilling rigs system
from mechanical rigs to dc/dc, ac/dc and ac/ac electrical rigs therefore rig power supply and transmission have to
change and some adjustment needs, we plan to change two rigs systems and upgrade them each year and it save 10
millions US$ per years.
Evaluate the latest innovated drilling industry Technology in the world and report to engineering director
Assessed possibility of importing the new drilling technology through procurement machinery and staff t raining
1991 -1995
Head of Drilling Lab
NIDC Drilling lab Services provided services in Mechanical testing, Chemical Analysis, Positive Material Id, Non Destructive
Testing, Metallography and Failure Analysis
Selected Achievements
Successfully established the department in 1991 as a metal testing laboratory.
Specified, selected, installed and managed the maintenance of all laboratory equipment's.
Set up work control systems, equipment tests, ensured standards of performance, quality, cost and safety were met.
Presented and documented all of the laboratory activity, test status, data, problem log, and conclusions.
Ordered parts, prepared technical reports and presentations.
Trained staff based on manual instruction of testing machines and international material testing standards such as:
AWS/ASME/ANSI Codes ASTM & API.
After 1991 all failure analysis, technical inspection reports, maintenance instruction, material technical specification for
built by domestic manufacturer was based on drilling lab technical reports, therefore it saved 3 Millions US$ per years
